Ace felt strange. He felt fine yesterday, and he felt fine last week. But today he didn't. He couldn't seem to place the start of the strange feeling welling up in his gut, and his head felt rather muddled. Especially when he looked over at Paul.

Whenever he looked at his curly-haired band mate, a wave of happiness and confusion hit him. leaving him with the strange feeling in his gut. His face became warm every time he looked at him; he felt unstoppable in his presence. Ace knew that this wasn't a good sign, he knew this was the start of a crush. He was suddenly entranced by everything the younger man did, and wanted nothing than to be with him as often as possible. He felt confused however - never until that point he had never really found himself attracted to men. At least not this strongly. And he had also never found himself attracted to Paul, and he usually thought he was a stuck-up asshole. But now he couldn't seem to peel his eyes away from him.

He observed as Paul strummed out chords, and could clearly see he was in deep thought. Every so often he would stop to write down lyrics, before continuing with different chord progressions. And Ace watched on, leaning his head on his hand and feeling a heat slowly creep up his face. He thought about what Paul would be like as a boyfriend. He imagined buying him gifts, and taking him on dates, and treating him as best he could. While he was uncertain why he suddenly had a crush on the rhythm guitarist, he certainly didn't hate it. He found it nice to think about someone in such a way, and would rather embrace his feeling than repress and deny them.

He was suddenly snapped out of his trance however, by Paul calling his name, and with a rather annoyed expression on his face.

"Ace? What the hell are you looking at?", He snapped.

"Oh- uh, its nothing", Ace replied, flustered, and looking around the room hoping his eyed would land anywhere except Paul. An awkward silence filled the room. However, it was eventually broken by Paul, holding up his sheet of lyrics, before walking over to Ace with them. Ace felt his stomach do flips and his cheeks grow red at his friend's approach, and looked up at him in anticipation before he spoke.

"Hey, I just finished these if you want to look", Paul said as he sat next to the guitarist.

Ace, again, began to blush as he felt Paul leaning into him, looking over his shoulder to read along to the lyrics he just wrote.

"The ladies call you 'Mr. Speed'?", Ace giggled as he read through the lyrics. He actually thought they were pretty good, but still took his chance to tease his band mate, regardless of his new-found fondness for him.

Paul blushed at Ace's comment, and lightly punched him on his arm, before muttering a small "shut up".

"Whatever you say then, Mr. Speed", the lead guitarist said, before blowing Paul a kiss, "this is a nice song though, Paulie"

He offered Paul a smile, to which Paul returned. Ace felt his stomach doing cartwheels once more as he looked into his friends chocolate-brown eyes, but was suddenly distracted by a rumbling from down below. He had completely forgotten lunch, and it seemed Paul had as well, both staying in the studio to pursue their own activities while Peter and Gene got lunch by themselves.

"Hey, Paul, you hungry?", he asked, hoping to spend as much time alone with him as possible.

Paul opened his mouth to speak, but as if on cue, Peter and Gene had returned from their adventure to the deli down the street.

"Hey bitches, we come bearing gifts", Peter announced in a comical tone, before handing Paul and Ace a sandwich each.

Ace and Paul both ate their food, before the latter showed the other two the song he had just written. The group spent the rest of the day in the studio arranging the song, but Ace didn't get any more time alone with the rhythm guitarist.
