"Oh, y/n, please, please, come with me! Everybody's going! You always stay in your room, it's time for you to have fun." Grace begged you.

"Why? I have everything I need here." You sighed, while continuing to work on your gadget, that laid on your desk.

Grace pouted, and flopped onto your bed.

"y/n, please! I promise I won't try to make you do anything you don't want to anymore."

"No." You furrowed your brows, starting to get annoyed with her persistent nagging.

Grace paused for a moment, thinking. You smiled, thinking she had finally accepted you not going. You were wrong.

"Fine. I guess Marius will have to dance with someone else." Grace smirked.

You whipped around to her.

"What did you say?"

"Well, since you're not going, Marius is going to have to dance with someone else. Maybe, hmm...I don't know, Monika?" She teased, your walls started to crumble down. You stayed silent.

"Fine." You spat, giving in to Grace.

"Yes! You won't regret it!" Grace said excitedly.

Here you are now, sitting on a couch, by yourself, while Grace dances with someone you've never met. You already wanted to go back to your room, but you didn't want to leave without talking to Marius. But, he was nowhere to be found.

Taking a sip of your drink, you scanned the room. You couldn't find him anywhere. That's when the bad thoughts started to flood your mind. Maybe he was in a room with some girl, or maybe he was avoiding you. You were so lost in your thoughts you didn't realize someone had been trying to talk to you.

"Hello?" The person waved a hand in your face, trying to snap you back to reality.

"Oh, sorry. Did you need something?" Looking up at the person, you didn't know who they were.

"I just wanted to dance, if that's okay with you." They held their hand out, shyly.

Marius was probably with someone else, anyways. Why shouldn't you try and have fun? Besides, why would he care?

"Oh, okay." You smiled, slowly taking their hand and standing up. You both walked out to where everyone else was dancing. They wrapped their arms around your waist, and you put your arms around their neck. The two of you began swaying to the music.

You frowned, this was not who you wanted to be dancing with. You wanted to be close to Marius, and feel his touch. The thought of him with someone else, made your eyes water.

"H-hey! What's wrong?" The stranger asked with a genuine look of concern plastered on their face.

You looked up at them, feeling guilty.

"Look, I'm so sorry. I'm sure you're a nice person, but I'm in love with someone, and I think they're with someone else right now, and my heart feels like it's breaking." You admitted to the stranger, pouring out your feelings to them.

Their expression softened, they didn't look sad or angry, just understanding.

"I get it. I'm sorry." They comforted you, and stopped swaying. You sighed.

"Don't be, haha." You said, sniffling, and wiping your eyes.

"Wait. What's your name?" The person, questioned you.

You raised a brow, the question feeling out of place.

"y/n."

"Oh, a man was looking for you over there." They pointed to their left. You looked over, and there you saw, Marius, standing at least 10 feet away, looking at you. When he saw you look over, he looked away.

"Oh my god. That's him." You said looking back to your partner. They smiled, and pat you on the back.

"Go get 'em, tiger."

You smiled softly. "Thank you."

Making your way over to Marius, your heart raced. This was the moment, you were finally going to tell him how you felt.

"H-hey, Marius." You stuttered, trying to keep calm.

"Hi." Marius said awkwardly, while rubbing his arm.

"Do you want to dance?" You smiled nervously, while avoiding eye contact. He nodded, and took your hand.

You got out onto the dance floor, and put your arms around him. Slowly, he put his hands on your waist.

"Are you okay?" You asked, worried he was uncomfortable.

"Sorry, I'm just a little...I'm not a party-er." He said anxiously. You giggled softly.

"It's okay if you don't want to dance, we could do something else." You said taking your arms off his shoulders.

"Could we go outside for a bit?"

"Of course." You took his hand and led him out the back door, where you guys stood on the porch. Leaning over the porch railing, you looked up at the stars.

"The stars are so pretty." You stared up at the sky, admiring the small, bright balls of light. You turned to face him, he was also looking up at the night sky. He looked more relaxed.

"Yeah." He agreed.

A moment of silence passed, before you broke the silence.

"Hey, um, Marius. I have something to tell you." You stuttered, and turned to face him, you were sure you were as red as a tomato.

"What is it?"

Your heart raced and adrenaline rushed through your veins. You were finally gonna confess.

"I...I like you, a lot. Like, a lot, and I totally get it if you don't like me back, because-"

"Stop." Marius said.

You looked up at him wide-eyed. You definitely messed up.

Marius leaned in and and kissed you. His soft lips pressing against yours. After a few moments, he pulled back.

"I like you, too." He smiled, admiring you. You giggled, and held his hand. Grace was right. You wouldn't regret going to that party.
