The bell for the end of the day rang loudly throughout the school. I immediately jumped up and swiftly walked out of the classroom. I made a left and headed for my locker. 'Maybe I could get out of here befo-'

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" A voice yelled as the hood of my hoodie was pulled forcefully making me fall back to the floor. My head collided with the floor and I winced.

A hand roughly pulled me up by the are and I was face to face with one of my bullies, Astrid. She glared at me and pushed me into the wall. I winced again as the brick wall met my back and shoulder blades.

"Huh?" Astrid asked, getting in front of me so I couldn't leave. Looking around, I noticed the rest of her gang. All were grouped around me. Snotlout and the twins were snickering at my pain while Fishlegs was leaned up against the wall on the other side of the hall. He was reading a book about dragons, and they call me the nerd. And finally in the back of the group was Hiccup, standing awkwardly.

I glared at him which made him drop his gaze. 'I had you back when you were in this position and now you don't have mine,' Before Hiccup became popular, him and I were the best of friends. He got bullied a lot and I always stood up for him. After his own little organization to rescue and protect abused or stray pets got popular. He too rose in popularity, making me take his place as the victim of bullies. Hiccup left me, forgot about our close friendship and abandoned me. It hurt, it really did. Especially since I had a crush on him for a while now.

"I..." I gulped down air, while Astrid grabbed my shoulders, "I was on my way to my job," I wasn't lying, I worked a part-time job at a local animal shelter. It was run by Hiccup's father, Stoick, and, at the time, I was best friends with Hiccup. Now I'm not, but, I need the money to save up for college. And I'm in my senior year, if I want to go to Berk University, I need the money. Even if the place is run by Stoick.

"Oh, your job?" Ruffnut sneered. Astrid threw her a glare and she immediately stopped laughing. Her brother smacked her on the back of the head. Ruff smack back and the two started beating each other.

"Still working at that pet store, huh? Cleaning up after the animals?" She sneered, before pushing me back into the wall. She stalked away, while the rest of the group laughed and walked away. Hiccup looked back at me and mouthed, 'I'm sorry,' I glared at him and his face turned to one of hurt; he put down his head and walked away with his group.

The walk there was actually quite pleasant. The wind was blowing a nice cool breeze, and it smelled of flowers. It was quiet with just me walking down the sidewalk. I had my headphones on, listening to my music and humming along.

"Afternoon (Y/N), how are you?" Stoick greeted as I entered from the back. He was helping a customer, but still turned to look at me.

I shrugged my shoulders and dropped my stuff behind the counter. My head was still pounding from earlier and everything hurt from falling onto the ground. The walked up to the counter and stood beside him.

"Hm?" He asked again, raising an eyebrow.

I shrugged again, "I'm fine," It's not that I didn't trust him or anything, it's that his son is Hiccup. How do you just tell someone, 'Hey, by the way, your son and his friends bully me all day, so yeah,' Easy, you don't. I shook my head, "And you?"
