"What do you mean you're leaving?" you said on the verge of tears, "I have this big deal in LA, don't worry I'll be back to see you soon I promise, I love you bestie" Payton said as he pulled you in to his chest kissing the top of your head.

Tears started rolling down your face as your only friend, the only one that knew everything about you said goodbye like it was the last time you would ever see each other again, "I love you so much" you both said at the same time "jinx" Payton laughed trying to lighten the mood making you smile, something you knew wouldn't happen again for a long time.

You cover your mouth in a way to hush yourself as you watch him drive away, looking out of the rear mirror mouthing the words 'I love you' with a slight wink, goodbye bestie until we meet again...

You used to text Payton everyday for hours, but now he says 'he has to go' or he just ghosts the message which broke you, but now you are used to it.

Payton came home a few times but never knocked for you, never came to see you, it was as if he forgot about you completely. You wondered what changed him.

You watched everything that Payton did, obviously not in a stalker way, you watched his tik toks, YouTube videos, interviews and his storys' it was your only reassurance to know he was ok as you didn't hear from him anymore.

You see people always shipping him with a girl or two and that always effected you because he meant the world to you and of course you had feelings for him, and being away from Payton just made them stronger.

You have spoken to a few of his friends and got pretty close to them, their names are, Chase and Jaden. Chase was the only one that really kept you updated and didn't air your messages which you did appreciate.

You have only met Chase once from when he came home with Payton for a day and he asked if he could meet you and Payton said yes because he wanted to see you too after so long( the first time he came back) then left you again without giving you any notice.

Y/n POV
'Payton can't come to the phone right now' rung in my ear for the 5th time tonight, "he never answers me anymore mum" I said as I took a seat at the table, "maybe he will call you back" my mum said as she got ready for he night shift. She was never home so I stay with Payton's mum till she finally comes home for an hour or two to just go out again.

I run back up the stairs, bringing my hair up into a bun throwing some sweats and a cropped hoodie on, I walk into the bathroom and look in the mirror, I was missing something and have been for a long time, a glow. Or the smile on my face either one have been gone since Payton left.

I just turn the light of looking under my bed for the Air Force I always wear, they are the only nice shoes I have to be honest, and when I wear them the make me feel like I'm worth something, not just a loner that has no friends, I go to walk out of my bedroom but stop in the middle of the hallway right next to the bathroom, I turn on the light, run the tap bring my hands to collect the water and splash my face with it getting another handful to drink, I look in the mirror and smile, it still didn't feel the same.

I run down the stairs as my mum is about to shout for me, running out the house and down the street to Payton's, to be greeted with a surprise, one I have mixed feelings about....
