Jungkook stared down at his phone reading the last text Jimin had sent him while laying down in bed, his face was bright red. He had lied. He remembered the question like he was asked yesterday, deep down he wanted to say yes to the therapist but several quick noes flew out of his mouth between his coughing. He thought it was selfish of him that he thought maybe Jimin would have some form feelings towards him, however, he knew he couldn't force them. He knew he couldn't cause any more unwanted drama after the crap his best friend had gone through during his time unconscious. He couldn't force Jimin to love him because he knew that wouldn't be right. His heart ached.

Throwing himself under the covers he closed his eyes hoping that the aching feeling in his heart would disappear once he fell asleep. A wet feeling rolled down his cheeks followed by a quiet sniffle, he sat up and pushed the covers back while wiping away the tears with the sleeves of his pyjamas. Why was he crying? I have no right to be crying, Jungkook thought, heavy huffing escaped his mouth. Even though summer was just around the corner and the weather was getting warmer, the bedroom felt bare and cold. A chiming noise filled his ears and drew his attention to his phone, a notification popped up but he couldn't be bothered looking at it.

Jungkook had known Jimin for four years now, they had met back in Summer School after Jimin's parents forced him to go due to his bad grades. Jungkook just went because he wanted to get better grades and help his dad out by getting a well earning job once High School was over. He remembered seeing Jimin sitting at the back of the class, alone most of the time, looking out onto the football field sitting there quietly. The first time Jimin ever spoke to Jungkook was to ask if he had a spare pen, he never gave that pen back though. This made Jungkook angry and he argued with Jimin about it until the last week of Summer school Jimin gave Jungkook the pen back. Leaving a little note on the side reading 'Sorry', Jungkook knew he was stupid getting so frustrated over a pen but felt guilty when he got it back.

Once summer school was over Jimin thought he would never see Jungkook ever again so did Jungkook about Jimin. When they saw each other in Mr Allen's maths class they were both very shocked, they didn't even know they went to the same High School. It wasn't long after that they both started talking and hanging out with each other then exchanging numbers and chatting over texts. They became very close very fast and people noticed a slight change in Jimin, he seemed happier and less lonely than he did before. Jungkook's dad noticed Jungkook going out more often and being more relaxed than his usual stressed self.

Wiping more of the tears away a quiet knock at his bedroom door caught his attention, he wiped his tears away quickly. "Come in," Jungkook voice cracked midsentence, opening the door entered Jimin with a limp. "Jimin you're not meant to be walking around without your crutches."

"I know, I know but I was only going across the hallway so I didn't see the point," Jimin responded. He eyed Jungkook noticing that his eyes were puffy and glassy, Jimin knew he had been crying. "Have you been crying?"

Jimin limped over to the bed quickly and placed himself on the opposite side of Jungkook as his best friend shook his head. "You don't have to lie to me, I know when you've been crying because your eyes go all puffy," Jimin chuckled, he poked Jungkook's cheek teasingly. Jungkook slapped his hand away and pulled the bed covers over his head and facing away from Jimin while mumbling something to himself. "What's wro-"

"Jimin go to bed we have school in the morning," Jungkook huffed from under the covers. He had at least expected Jimin to let out a groan in annoyance but there nothing but silence coming from the smaller male. Small shuffling on the covers next to him caused Jungkook to pop his head up from the covers, Jimin's face was centimetres from his face with his eyes closed. Jungkook had been close to Jimin before but not this close and... on a bed.

Jimin's face was peaceful, his cheeks a soft pink and his mouth slightly agape with soft breaths escaping his mouth. Jungkook's brown eyes trailed Jimin's face, his skin was clean no blemishes insight, he was perfect. He continued to look at his friend's face before stopping at Jimin's lips, they looked so soft and plump. "Jimin when I said go to bed I meant your own bed," Jungkook said lifting up the pillow that Jimin's head was resting on and hitting him with it.

"Yah!" Jimin yelled loudly sitting up in a hurry, "You can't hit an injured man like that!"

"The pillow isn't-" Jungkook stopped midway through the sentence as a pillow collided with his face. "Oh, you're going to play that game I see!" Jungkook laughed hitting Jimin again with the pillow, their laughter erupted through the bedroom as their pillow fight grew bigger. Bright smiles gleaming off their faces, smiles that they haven't shown for a long time. Jimin swung his arm back that held the pillow, swinging it quickly it caught Jungkook's head.

"Argh!" Jungkook yelped as his whole body slammed against the mattress, the pillow fell out of his hand onto the floor leaving him defenceless. "Okay, okay! You won, I give up!"

"So are you going to tell me why you were crying?" Asked Jimin putting the pillow down beside, he moved closer to Jungkook who hesitantly looked away from his gaze. "Please Jungkook? I'm worried about you."

"I'm fine I promise," Jungkook lied, he wanted to come clean to Jimin about his feelings so badly but risking his friendship with him wasn't worth it to him. Jimin raised an eyebrow because he was sensing he wasn't telling the truth. "I just... Umm... I just miss my dad... He hasn't visited me as he promised, probably due to work."

"Kookie..." Jimin spoke with sympathy in his voice, "You know you can always go live back with him, I'm not going to stop you. The Bloodhounds have been caught so you should be safe."

Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck in frustration, Jimin was right next to him like he had been many times. Those times were difficult times, emotional times and times of pure joy, every moment Jimin was there with him and when he wasn't he felt like the loneliest person alive. As selfish as it sounded he didn't want to move back home, he was happy living with Jimin and it was the happiest he had been in a while. Back at home if his dad knew if he was gay he would probably be out on the streets because he had heard him say horrible things about the LGBTQ+. His heart cracked, his feelings towards Jimin were destroying him on the inside, he needed to tell him. Unknowingly, tears sneaked from his eyes onto the covers of the bed and his breathing had become ragged.

"Jungkook? What's the matter?" Jimin said sounding very concerned for his friend, his friend mumbled something quietly as the tears came heavier, "What did you say?"

"I-I like... Ugh..." Jungkook stumbled, "I like you Jimin, a lot. It's driving me crazy thinking that you're going to absolutely hate me and that you won't want to be friends with me after this. Well, I've told you now and I'm prepared to hear the worst."

"You're right Jungkook... I don't want to be your friend any more..."

And just like that Jungkook's heart shattered.
