Tasha Wilson stood in front if her window and watched as the gray clouds danced across the sky.
Apparently, the fat and sweaty weatherman on Channel 24 had been right about the huge thunderstorm in Augusta, Maine.
She stuffed her hands into the pocket of her red hooded sweater and fiddled with the silver chain of her mother's necklace, which she found in the attic with her mother's items.
Every time she touched the cool metal of the necklace chain, a chill ran down her spine and a strange tingling feeling began in her fingers.
She had to clean out the attic because her family was moving to Maine, and there she found a box of her mom's items.
And in the box, she had found several things that had belonged to her mom. Her mom's wedding dress, a few books, photo albums of Eric and Tasha, and the necklace.
On the necklace hung a large black and yellow stone, Tasha had thought at first it was just a wasp, but it was a pendant that she had never seen her mother wear.
Tasha hesitantly pulled out the necklace, a strike of lightning and thunder crashed outside. Holding the necklace gave her goosebumps, it felt wrong holding something that had belonged to her mother.
She unlocked the lock on the necklace and went to wrap it around her neck when her brother, Eric, burst into her room.
She spun around and glared at Eric, still holding the necklace above her neck. Eric's blonde hair had dewdrops in from the rain, he wore gym clothes.
He smiled at her and nodded towards the window, "See that storm? We didn't have storms like that in San Francisco..."
Her heart sunk at the thought of San Francisco, the days that were spent on the beaches eating seafood while flirting with the lifeguards and hanging out with her friends.
Eric gave her a heartfelt look, he must've been feeling the same way when they moved. Sometimes Tasha forgot that Eric had to move away from his home too. "Hey, I'm sorry I mentioned. I didn't want to make me feel sad again..."
She nodded, "It's okay. It isn't your fault that you wanted to talk about home." Eric smiled and then leaned against the doorway.
"Well, if you aren't busy crying later, a couple of my new friends from the Gym are going to go grab a bite later on, wanna join?" Eric said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"I don't know... Netflix has been texting me and asking if I wanted to watch The Vampire Diaries, so..."
"Oh, c'mon! I need to fatten you up with some Sonic so I can insult you in public
by calling you fat!
"ERIC!!!"
He chuckled. "Fine, fine, fine, will you please come with us?"
Tasha groaned loudly and drummed fingers at the windowsill, Eric gave her that annoyingly adorable cute smile that drove girls wild and she nearly slapped him.
"Fine..."
He jumped up and began to cheer, "Yes! Yes, I did it! Guys, come on, I did it!" Tasha blushed, what was her big brother up to?
And then two guys and two girls appeared, they all wore gym clothes compared to Tasha's sweater and jeans.
The two guys looked like brother's, one had brown hair and tan skin while the other had auburn hair and olive skin, but they both dimples and cleft chins that made their faces more attractive.
Auburn-hair wore a white tank top with black and white shorts with red Nikes, Brunette wore an orange and black tank top with white shorts and orange Nikes.
The two girls both had blonde hair, the first girl had an Elfish look about her with her sharp eyes and heart shaped mouth. She wore a pink t-shirt, blue shorts, and white Nikes.
The second girl wore a white shirt with pink shorts and white Nikes, (what was the Nikes?), this girl seemed to have a cruel look about her, yet her expression calmed when she looked at Eric.
Well, this will be a fine day!
