"Why don't you make friends in school?"

"Why are you so anti-social?"

"Why are you such a depressing girl?"

There, my daily questions fired by my mom. I wish I could be friends with someone and hang out with them like any normal kid does. But no, I'm not that kind of girl.

I don't even want to be depressed, mom. Why won't you understand that?

Going to school is hell for me. I have no friends, I'm bad at my studies, I'm a loner, and I get bullied every time.

I wish I could change, but obviously I couldn't. If I could, I would want to change everything about me.

"Chloe, have you prepared yourself for school? I'll ride you there since I'm passing by your school." Mom shouted in the kitchen, obviously not letting me skip school again.

Sigh, why does school even exist?

"I'm coming down soon!" I quickly put on a simple white top and paired it with a dark blue highwaist, then putting on my eyeliner and cherry lip balm.

Yup, that's my daily makeup routine, simply because putting too much makeup is a hassle. No matter how pretty I try to be, nobody will notice my efforts.

I walked down to the kitchen and saw my mom sipping her coffee, reading today's newspaper.

"Let's go then."

I sat on the passenger's seat and fixed my long, wavy center parted brown hair before we reached my school.

"We're here, hun." My mom looked bat me and gave a cheeky smile.

What's with that smile?

"Thanks mom." I kissed her cheeks and she did the same. "Hun," mom's voice has a little concern in them, "Please try your best to make friends, alright? I wouldn't want my lovely daughter to be a loner for the rest of your life."

Ah, so that's what the cheeky smile is about. What a selfish request you're asking from me, mom.

"I'll try, I promise. Okay?" I sigh, and massaged her hands before getting off the car.

"I love you, Chloe."

Guys, welcome back to hell.

Just before reaching my locker, a bunch of people were in front of me and giggling while pointing fingers at me.

Wow, don't they have manners at all?

I plugged in my earpiece and wanted to rush to the lockers, but instead, I got tripped by a random guy and fell onto the floor. "Oh look who fell!" A stupid, short redhead girl said. She giggled at me along with her peers and my face went red in embarassment. "Emo Chloe!" "Loner!" All sorts of nickname came out from their dirty mouth. Yeah, I'm a loner and I'm emo, but you lowered yourself and bullied me. You're a scum.

I got up quickly and took my bag, then I walked back to class, acting like nothing had happened when in reality it really hurt like hell.

I stood in front of the class door and saw a bunch of people surrounding the class board. I wonder what's happening?

Before I entered the class to check what's happening, a loud and painful smack came behind my back. "Ouch!" I yelp in pain. I turned around and saw Taylor. She's really thin but she has that boobs and the butt. She's what you call perfection. "Move it, you fat woman! You're not even thin, why the hell are you standing here? Get in!" Except her personality. Yup.

"Sorry." I said, obviously hurt by her comment.

The first period is English, and it's my favourite subject. Mrs. Grey, our English teacher, is always on time for class. But today, she's late. "Something's not right," I thought to myself. A few minute later, she stepped into the class.

"I'm sorry for being late, class. I had to collect a document in the office," she explained. I looked at her in confusion but the class cheered.

"There's a new transfer today!" A girl screamed in excitement and the rest of the class cheered along.

Ah, so that's what the commotion was about, earlier. But it's near the end of year, yet there's a new student enrolling? That's weird...

A bunch of students asked about the new transfer student, but she didn't reply them. Instead, she told us to keep quiet and invited the new student in.

"Please come in," Mrs. Grey instructed the student. The door slowly opened with a slight creaked sound, and the class girls are already falling in love. The boys smirked and roared for the new transfer student.

The new transfer student stood in front of the class and smiled at us warmly. His hair is golden-brown in color and it was cut neatly, followed by his broad shoulder. It's not muscular nor too meaty, just average. Mrs. Grey cleared her throat and asked the new transfer student to introduce himself. "Good Job, Mrs. Grey!" I cheered her on mentally.

The transfer student cleared his throat to get our attention to him.

"I'm Austin. Austin Shaw." He spoke. Before he could finish introducing himself, Taylor threw herself on him.

Not literally though.

"So, why did you transfer here?" She asked.

"Um, personal reason?"

"What's your height?"

"178cm."

"Are you a nerd?" Someone else asked, and the whole class looked at me and laughed. I let out a sigh and looked away from Austin.

"I'm not, but I think nerds are pretty cool." I secretly looked at him, and I caught his eye. My face flushed and I know that is it obvious as I have a pretty fair skin, and quickly tore away the gaze.

Mrs. Grey then clapped her hands to stop the commotion in class. "Alright, alright. Austin, where do you want to sit? There's plenty of empty seats in the class, so feel free to sit wherever you want." Mrs. Grey smiled at him and waved at him, giving him permission to go to his seat of his choice.

I laid my head down onto the table to avoid anyone to see my flushed face. The class was quiet for a few second and I looked up. "Why is everyone so quiet?" I thought to myself. Then, I looked beside me, where my empty seat has been occupied.

Yup. He sat beside me. Austin did.

My eyes were wide open and I looked at him in confusion, unable to speak. "Nice to meet you," he greeted politely but I quickly looked away and died. Mentally.
