We were on a school trip to a jungle. Everyone was having a great time. We were all excited to get there. The bus was very lively. Everyone was happy do finally get a vacation after a long school semester.
When we finally got there there were little houses and shacks made of sticks and leaves. I claimed one with my friends Ethan. They had hammocks for beds and they were surprisingly comfortable. We had many things to do there. We could go swimming, we could adventure, we could play games with the rest of the class.
Me and Ethan went exploring for a while in the forest then came back and swam for a while. Soon came night and every one was gathered around a fire the teachers made. Everything was perfect, we had s'mores, we sang songs, cracked jokes, and even though I was an introvert and didn't know many people we all just had a great time. Soon it got very late and every one went back the their shacks.
I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I heard some rustling in the bushes. I thought it was just some forest animals but then it got rougher so I got up to check. It wasn't any animal but it looked like a person in a cloak with a pair of binoculars. I called out to him and he looked at me and ran. I went back to sleep.
The morning came and Ethan asked "Hey, do you wanna go explore the forest today?" I said "Sure but I have to go tell the teachers about something first." He nodded and started to get ready for the adventure.
I went over the teachers shack and told them about what I saw last night. They asked "Did you know what he looked like?" I said "No all I saw was a dark figure wearing a cloak and he had some binoculars." They let me go and said they would be on the lookout tonight.
I got back to the shack and Ethan was already ready. I just had to pack a few things then I'd be ready. I got all packed and we left. We were deep in the forest being sure not to get lost. We left a trail of leaves behind us so we wouldn't get lost.
We found a small lake and sat down for a while and talked. We had to be back in time so we don't miss the boating that was planned for today. As we sat there talking I felt as though I was being watched. I looked around and thought I saw something in the bushes but I could quite make out a shape.
I turned to Ethan and said " I think we need to go dude, I feel like we're being watched." He replied "Oh your just being paranoid. Just calm down bud, we'll be fine." I replied " Yeah, I guess your right. I'm probably just paranoid." So we sat there a while longer and talked.
Then we both heard something like a thud. We looked around for the source of the sound. As we were looking Ethan saw a figure in a hood staring at us. He said something under his breath. I looked at him and saw what he was looking at. He said " We need to go now." And I agreed.
We started packing up our stuff and started walking back to the camp. We heard quiet steps behind us. We looked back and saw that he was following us. I said to Ethan "On 3 we run" he nodded. "1 2 3!" And we ran back to camp. He stopped following us when we started running.
We got back to camp just in time for the boating time. Me and Ethan told the teachers and they said they'll keep a very hard look out tonight. We went to the boats and got ready. We were out on the water for a couple hours. When we finally got back it was almost dark.
We had another fire, and s'mores, and all the fun stuff we had last night. It was getting late and people started leaving going back to their shacks. One teacher came up to me and Ethan and said they and another teacher will be on lookout. They also told us they didn't want to tell other student so they wouldn't get scared.
We headed back to our shack and I told Ethan about the incident last night. He asked "Do you think the person in the forest today was the same as the one last night." I said "I don't know but they were both wearing a hood."
Me and Ethan had found it difficult to sleep that night. We could not stop thinking of what happened. I even had a nightmare about it. I woke up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night. I expected to here a rustling in the bushes again but to my surprise there was nothing. I went back to sleep.
I woke up earlier than most that morning. Ethan was still asleep. I got up and looked outside to see that no one was up. Even the teachers weren't up yet. Then that's when I saw it. An army of hooded men with bows and cannons coming from around the hill.
