Reader POV

It was a normal day like no other me and Nico were walking home from school. You and Nico had been friends ever since you were about 3. You had been through heartbreak, happiness and anger and everything in between together for what seemed like forever. You two had really never considered becoming anything more than close friends and you seemed to mutually agree that it would be better that way. Nico though had been seeming a little more, romantically attracted to you in the past few months but you brushed it off as you overthinking things. You had become great friends with u's through Nico and you had all taken a liking to each other. Of course with anything the fans had to ship you with whoever they chose since you were commonly associated with them as you helped a lot and was always seen hanging out with them. Many believed you had a romantic relationship with one of them. A "canon" ship was you and Nico. Whenever this would come up you and her would brush it off as it seemed ridiculous. But Nico had been becoming more.. awkward about it. But it was obviously just you overthinking things again right? I mean I have never had a girlfriend before and I never really minded that. (Even though your parents did). When you and Nico were almost home Nico awkwardly asked

"So if I were to ever like like someone what would you recommend saying or doing to slightly hint at that."

"I don't know I guess, you're asking a guy who has never had a girlfriend before, so don't put my advice before anyone else's but I would show subtle sign like get them a rose or something that shows that you care about them in a romantic way."

"Oh please, you know well and good that all the girls at school like you, you are the best player on the baseball team you are super nice and kinda cute actually. But anyway thanks for the advice!"

Nico speed walks away and you start to question really if you are as ugly as you think you are and maybe the love letters aren from your buddies trying to prank you and that all the girls that cheer you on at baseball aren't just trying to support the team. Whatever, I guess I should make more of an effort to notice these things. You walk home whistling your favorite tune and with this slight confidence boost on girls liking you you walk home a bit taller
