Victoria sank to her knees as nausea clawed at her throat, she could feel her stomach contracting violently. She tried to force down the bile, but she was too late. Chunks of partially ingested rotten meat spewed out of her coughing, choking mouth. Her face as white as a piece of paper and dripping bile, sweat and tears. The pungent stench invaded her nostrils and she heaved even though there was nothing left to go. She surveyed the mess with watery eyes.

She had no one to ask for help, she's all alone in this dark smelly place what she called her room.

"Victoria! Get in here this instant." A voice called, it was filled with impatience. Victoria quickly scrambled to her feet towards the door to get to the drawing room where the voice came from. There where other voices that she could hear as she gets closer, clearly there were guests inside. Before she could touch the door knob of the drawing room it was stopped by a rough hand. It was a male with an unpleasant face that was permanently scrunch into a frown.

"Yes, stepfather?" She asked feeling weak, eyes watery. She was hunching and holding her stomach, still feeling the sickness she felt a while ago. The face of her stepfather contorted into disgust when he saw her and she knew she was going to get punish.

'SLAP' Her tiny frame shook from the force. Her right cheek stinging and red, a bruise starting to form. She was slapped by her stepfather. "GET OUT OF MY SIGHT YOU DISGUSTING THING!"

Victoria scurried away from her stepfather's sight and proceeded in front of her room's door. As she entered her bedroom she could smell the disgusting stench of the mess she made a while back. She kneeled on the floor and began to clean her vomit.

'I cannot take this anymore... I just want to live happily without worrying about what the future holds.' She breathlessly thought to herself, then she felt a tear rolled down on her cheeks until she couldn't take it anymore tears started to flow uncontrollably.

"No.. No, I won't keep up with this. I won't let anyone push me around like a waste of space. I won't sit here and let myself fall apart. I won't wait for a prince to save me or anybody else, I will save myself from this misery." She said while staring ahead hoping for a better tomorrow.

A quarter past midnight Victoria began to collect all her belongings and stormed out of the house without anyone noticing.

'This is my chance... There is no turning back. I won't hold back myself... I will start a more meaningful and beautiful life. I will  not doubt and only believe that I can do anything that I set myself into."

She looked back and saw the faint silhouette of the house where she experience a lot of hardship and pain. A relieved smile was plastered across her face.
