*I Knowit hasbeen way too long, but here it finally is: the sequal to Chasing the Wind. I'm not ready to release a full chapter yet so for now here's a small teaser. Enjoy!*

Intro

"Do you feel that?" I close my eyes taking in the deep scent of fresh rain fall. I nod and the arms around me pull me closer. "Rain heals all Anna?" Not everything. He doesn't need to hear my silent thoughts to be able to understand the skepticism hidden behind my pursed lips. "In time the rain can heal everything." He repeats again.

I stand up suddenly; we had had this talk enough times for me to know the outcome. I was tired of fighting with Mitch and I knew he was tired of my tears. As I pull away from him I feel all the warmth he had held sucked out of my body. Without Mitch's arms wrapped around me the whole world becomes little more than a kingdom of ice.

Mitch trails behind me silently as I make my way through the dying grasses of winter to the small cabin where we had been spending the last months of my recovers. Even with the scars and bandages I'm too noticeable to be traveling out in the open. For now Mitch had me resting up and when I became well we'd make the hard trek to the city limits. A new life; this is what he promises me every night before I slept.

The rain begins to pour down harder soaking the thinning cotton of my old summer sweater. "You won't get better if you keep getting sick." I feel the warmth of his thick jacket wrap around me accompanied by a kiss that touches my cheek so softly that I nearly mistake it for rain.

"Mitch," I turn to face him feeling my frustration melt away with a new feeling. "I'm sorry I-" he kisses me and the last of the pain disappears taken over by the heat of his touch. Like a wilting flower to the sun, my body is drawn to him. An arm wraps around me pulling me closer as the kiss deepens sending the scorching touch of fire running down my lips, my face, my body till I'm engulfed in it.

Some things don't change, but then some things do. His lips leave mine making their way to my neck but then they suddenly freeze. Pulling away he looks at me and in his eyes I see the reflection of a broken figure. She has a face wrapped in bandages. She has a body marred with broken bones. She is me.

"Annie-"

"It's okay." I say stopping him. This too I have heard far too many times. "It's okay." Walking in to the broken down cabin I let the door close behind me, protecting me from the pain of his stare.
