Tomorrow was Vanessa's birthday. She was so excited, by 7:14 a.m. tomorrow, she would officially be a teenager. 13 years was supposed to be the first day of "freedom", or so she thought. She thought that it would be the best day if her life, that her parents would treat her like an adult. She would be more mature, but she didn't expect to become this mature.

"Vanessa sweety! Time for bed!" Maya, Vanessa's mother, called out. *how did she know? I told her that I was going to bed 2 hours ago... Sometimes I wish my mom didn't know me so well.* Vanessa thought. Maya didn't know what was going to happen to her beloved daughter. She was afraid for the first time in 9 years, when her son went through the change.
On July 27, Chase went through his transformation. He was so excited, along with Maya and Elijah. They were so proud that there only child was finally going to transform into his wolf form for the first time ever. Unfortunately, Chase didn't survive. Five months passed and Vanessa was born. They cherished all the time that they had with her. Maya and Elijah never knew about the dangerous possibilities of the first transformation. So this time they were prepared. The past few years they started to detach themselves so her death wouldn't be so hard on them. But it would only make them miss her more.
