I slowly walk towards the doctors office, to my new life, with new parent

"We'll all miss you Bailey." says my favorite nurse, Juanita.

" Will they come for my brother too? When he wakes up?"

Juanita bites her lower lip, struggling for words.

"Bailey, your brother is going to wake up. Soon, too. But,well, the family you're going with already has two of their own kids, two adopted, and now you as a foster. They have their hands full. So, no. I'm sorry Bailey, they won't be fostering Brian."

"W-What?We'll be separated?"

"I'm so sorry Bailey. "

I am speechless, my brother is too young, he won't know what's going on, he's only seven! I am old enough to understand this, but Brian...

"Bailey, we're here, sweetie." says Juanita.

A tall young looking woman stands with a man in the doorway.

Her thick blonde hair falls to her shoulders in perfect waves, and she looks like someone out of a magazine. Her eyes are crystal blue. The man stands at the same height. Curly black hair frames his face. He has on reading glasses and looks at me with a small smile.

"Bailey! We're so happy to finally meet you!" She chirps.

I look at my feet. I'm not going to say that I'm happy, I'd much rather be with my mom and dad. It's just not...possible. I'd be living with corpses.

Juanita nudges me with her elbow. "Oh, umm, yeah. Nice to meet you." I rub my ribs where she elbowed me.

Juanita smiles warmly at them . " Bailey has made a great recovery, but she still needs to come in once a week, just to make sure somethings not wrong inside her."

"Thank you, we will do that." says the man.

"On, where are our manners?" exclaims the woman." This is Curt, my husband, and I'm Veronica. Our children are all waiting for you, shall we go home?"

I flinch at home and they struggle for words. "Well, I mean, not your home ,ours, but it could most definitely be yours too!" She says, trying to lighten the mood.
