Victoria's POV

Well, that was one of the more awkward goodbyes that I've had. I can say I didn't want to get out of that truck, mainly because I was so scared to go home to be by myself. But, I smiled and said goodbye to Hopper, getting out of the truck and making my way to my car. While I dug in my pocket for my keys I looked over to see the greenhouse that was torn up, leaving a chill down my spine. I shook it off, getting in my car and driving off towards home.

Once I started to approach my house I noticed a car sitting outside of my house. As I got closer I saw it was a white van. I tried to read the writing that was on the side of it, but it was a little too dark. It looked like two people were just sitting there. Were they waiting for me? But, as soon as I pulled up and parked beside my house, the van started up and quickly zoomed off. I sat there as I watched it drive away in confusion for a moment. Creepy, but not the strangest thing I have seen all day.

I got out, making my way up to my house and letting myself in. I was greeted by my cat as soon as I stepped in and shut the door. He was meowing like crazy, poor thing was probably lonely and hungry. I scooped him up, going to the kitchen to feed and water him. After that I went to attempt taking a shower. Probably the most painful shower of my life. My arm was not cooperating. I had a bag wrapped around it to protect the bandages because they weren't ready to change yet, which helped me manage. Finally, I got some comfy clothes on, and hopped in bed, and closed my eyes, trying to sleep.

7:00AM The Next Morning

That was more than likely the worst I've ever slept. I kept waking up in a cold sweat every hour, every time I closed my eyes that thing appeared in my head. Not to mention my arm being in pain not helping. My alarm woke me up as usual, only assuming I was supposed to go to work. I hadn't really spoken to my boss about anything that happened. But, before I could even turn off my alarm there was a pounding at my front door.

I slammed my alarm off, sitting up and quickly going to the door. Before anything I peaked out the window, checking to see who it was. To my surprise, the first thing I noticed was the white van that I saw sitting outside my house yesterday; two this time though. They said "John's heating and air" on the side. I then looked over to see four men gathered by my door, I stared for a moment in confusion until one of the men noticed my staring. It startles me, making me jump back away from the window.

I thought for a second until i heard them knocking once again. I went to reach for the doorknob, stopping and only pressing my face to the door.

"Can I help you, gentlemen?" Ai shouted through the door.

"We're looking for Victoria?" One yelled back.

"Who's asking?" I said. That was an obvious question.

"We're with John's heating and air. We got a call that you needed some help." They said again.

"Uhh..." I thought for a moment, knowing for sure I didnt call. "No. I dont need any service, thank you."

They didn't respond for a moment, I sat there with my ear pressed to the door for a long moment with only hearing the sound of my breathing. All at once the doorknob started to go crazy wiggling, causing me to gasp, jumping away from the door as I watched in shock. The started shoving the door, continuing to wiggle the knob and all at once stopped. I felt myself starting to panic. Why the hell did they want to fix my heart or air so damn bad?

"We need to speak to Victoria-" One shouted angrily but I got him off before finishing.

"I'm going to call the police!" I shouted away from the door.

I sound around, heading to the kitchen to go to the phone on the counter but froze when I briefly saw a tall figure walk past my window by my backdoor. I didn't know what to do for a moment, feeling myself begin to panic more. They started to bang the door, wiggling the knob again.

I ran to the phone, picking it up, scooping up my cat who was eating by the phone, and running to my pantry with it, shutting the wire in the door. I curled into the corner, hugging my cat as I spun the numbers to call the station, not 911 in hopes of maybe getting ahold of Hopper since he said to call him if I had problems. Which, yes I'm aware was probably dumb because in this situation I should have called 911. But I panicked, alright?

I felt my throat tighten with tears as the phone rang. Finally, a woman, the same one that picked up the morning of the attack answered.

"Hawkins police station, how can I help you?" She said.

"Uh- hi... is Chief Hopper available?" I asked in a stutter as I listened to them banging the door louder and louder.

"Let me check." She said, going quiet for a moment. "No, he isn't available right now, he's out. Do you need to leave a message-"

"No, no..." I felt my heart sink. "Someone is trying to break into my house-"

I then at once heard the backdoor across from me open... I don't think I locked it. Of course. Loud stomping approached the pantry door. I felt tears starting to run down my cheeks as my breathing picked up. I hugged my cat tightly, forgetting I was on the phone, dropping it.

The door swung open quickly, causing me to squeak in terror.
