Rian tried not to think about what was going to happen to him. It was becoming too hard to even breathe. Suddenly through the sound of his ragged breathing and the pounding of the rain a voice called out, "Hey, are you okay?"
Rian froze, but didn't say anything.
The voice, now closer to him, said, "Hey, are you aright?"
Finally he slowly raised his head to look at the person belonging to the voice. His eyes took in the young woman standing in front of him. She was staring at him with concern clouding in her eyes. Rian didn't know what to say, so he just stared at her.

Lacey took another step towards hi, all the while he just stared at her, his shocking blue eyes, dull and clouded with pain. He almost looked like he couldn't believe that she was talking to him. "Do you need any help?"
The man nodded just as a groan wracked through his body. Lacey's eyes widened and she stepped forward, her hand outstretched in front of her. Lacey's hand connected with the only patch of skin visible, save his face.She let out a small, shocked gasp because his hands were freezing, just like she was touching ice; he was shaking quaking where he sat.

Sorry everyone for the really abrupt cliffhanger; there was any other seemingly "okay" stopping place, so I had to improvise. Please don't hate me! Also the smaller chapters make it easier for me to update almost everyday! I hope you at least somewhat enjoyed this chapter! More soon to come!! :D
