This story is little of fantasy and romance. Keiran meets the new girl but can't seem to get a grip on her mysteriousness.

From the moment I laid eyes on her five foot seven inch frame I had to know her; especially the mysterious way her eyes saddened when Mr. Leonard asked her where she was from.

"Take a seat, Miss Moretti."

"Thank you," she graciously whispered as she headed to the only seat behind me. My nostrils were overwhelmed by her heavenly essence. My hands clenched, my heart began to beat briskly... get it under control Keiran. I heard the seat behind me move and my mind tried to filter back to reality but it couldn't. All I could think about was her scent, her smell.

"Mr. Ashford... could you please catch Miss Moretti up on where we are?"

"Yea, sure," I mentioned, trying to shake her scent from my head. "Stop," I muttered to myself as I turn to face her. "Hey, I'm Keiran."

"Hi, I'm Willow." All I could do was smile... she had the most beautiful olive skin I had ever seen, with flaming red hair and piercing green eyes. I know how "girly" I must seem to be describing her in such a manner but I couldn't help it... Willow was definitely one of the prettiest girls in school.

"Nice to meet you Willow, are you ready to play catch up?" She giggled, hiding her smile behind her hands. She nodded. I began explaining the different branches of government, political parties and the two different types of government. I was on my way to explaining what a totalitarian dictatorship was when the bell rang for third period.

You could hear the bustle of the other kids as they shoved their books into their backpacks, rushing out of the room. "Where is your next class?" She looked down, pushing a curl of her red locks behind her ear.

"Umm, it looks like I have Human Anatomy."

"Sweet... I have Mythology. I can take you there if you need me to, it's right next door."

"Thanks but I think I can find my way. I'll holler if I need you."

Taken aback by her words, I nodded and headed to my next class. Outside in the hall you could hear the cheerleaders chanting Shoot it, shoot it! Make it, make it. Woosh, baby woosh! I couldn't help but to chime in with the last chant Clap your hands, stomp your feet, we're the team you can't defeat! The cheerleaders always knew how to get the school pumped and ready for the game. Tonight was our second game of the season. Two nights ago we crushed the Littleton Lions 76-94. It was one of the best...

"Hey babe! Are you ready for the game?" My girlfriend asked. I know... I know... typical right. Basketball guy dates the hot cheerleader? Yeah well... "You're gonna lead the team to victory right? You are gonna take the ball and take it to the hoop every time right?"

"Yeah.... yeah... sure," I say nonchalantly. I walked to class with her talking a mile a minute about her best friend, Alyson who was trying to hook-up with one of my basketball buddies. Again, I nodded, paying her no attention. She then dove in about going to get makeup after school, working out and what Sue said about her in Math class. I had been unhappy in our relationship for quite some time and I didn't know how to break it to her. I mean she was a cool girl to hang out with but she thrived on drama and her reputation... plus everything had to be about Bethany or it wasn't about anything.

"Bethany. Stop. I can't..." I complained.

"You can't what?" She whined, puckering out her lips. If I still had any feelings for her, I would have given in but I didn't.

"I can't be with you any more... I would give the standard cliché of, it's not you, it's me. But truthfully it is you. I can't do this drama crap. I can't. I'm sorry Bethany." I blatantly say, before kissing her on the forehead, feeling a big weightlifting off my shoulders.

#############################################################################

Lunchtime loomed before me and I couldn't wait to eat. I was starving... as I packed up my book I saw her red hair pass by my classroom. Shoot! I nearly tripped over Mrs. Slovene as I raced after Willow. "Sorry," I murmur. Where had she gone that fast? I wondered. And then I saw her... hair pulled back into a messy bun and face full of concern and worry. Would she head into the cafeteria or would she disappear into the library for lunch?

"Dude! You broke up with Bethany?" My best friend, Marceau, questioned.

"Yeah," I inquire, taking my eyes away from Willow.

"She started getting on your nerves huh?"

"Hell yeah man, she was always talking about herself. I couldn't do it anymore."

"Well I don't blame you. I told you that she was like that before you and her even started dating." He mentioned as Willem showed up.

"Sup dude? You see that new girl? She's frickin' banging!"

"Yeah, I've seen her. I was gonna go and talk to her before you two goofs showed up," I state, searching for her in the crowd. Where could she have gone in the past minute?

"Someone's whipped already... not even been a day and ca-chow!" Marceau says, cracking his invisible whip.

"Shut up dude!" I yell, heading into the cafeteria. Fried chicken, steak, berries, broccoli, salad. None interested me but I knew I had to choose one. "I don't know what to get."

"I'm going for the steak today... I don't know what Marceau is going for but I smelled this one chick earlier today and I know she had type O... the steak is the closest thing we have to the taste of human blood," he whispered. He was right, it was the only thing we had. And then her scent took me to the wonderful smell of Willow. Control Keiran, control yourself. Willem eyed his new girlfriend as he paid for his food and headed after her. I smirked, clearing her scent from my head, paying for my food and then following Willem to our table.

"Ready for the game tonight?" Elizabeth asked as Marceau and I sat at our seats.

"Hell yea! We are gonna smash them Tigers!"

"Hell yea!" The rest of the team chimed in. Just as I was about to say something, I caught her standing near the door with her red-hot hair. I smiled and knew I had to talk to her. I swear I only glanced down for a mere second and she was gone. As I studied the air in which she vanished, I saw a quick flicker of her face and then she disappeared. What kind of creature was she? She was unlike anyone I had ever met before but I had to know her.
