All I seemed to do was run. They were fast and on my tail, I was so close to the escape pods, I could almost smell the freedom. 'Come on, (Y/n)! You can do this! Just a little bit further!!' I yelled at myself, picking up speed and running as fast as I could. The escape pods were now in sight, but the doors were closing. I ran a little bit further and then launched myself forwards, making it into the pod. I was panting, and the people inside were cheering. 'I made it..' I sighed in relief. I could finally go home.
Oh, but of course the Galra always have to ruin everything! They started shooting at the pod, the floor beginning to shake with every shot fired. They hit one of our engines and we went spiralling, thankfully into a nearby planet. We crashlanded and the Galra flew right over and away from the planet, probably presuming us dead. Everyone cheered once again, but not over the Galra leaving. They'd seen something else. I pushed through the small crowd of people, who were taller than me, to see what was happening. And there it was, in all of its glory. Voltron. They'd come to save us. I smiled and joined in on the cheering. "Don't worry, you're all safe now!" Someone from inside of Voltron spoke, it sounded so familiar. I frowned, trying to think of who that might be.
The paladins disbanded and came out of their individual lions, making their way over to us. The black paladin was the first to reach us. "Another group of prisoners rescued!" The blue paladin cheered, yelling right into the red paladins' ear. Red gained a scowl and started arguing with the blue paladin. The other aliens seemed confused like they didn't speak English. "I don't think they speak English. But thank you, so much! It feels so nice to finally see something other than the same four walls." I breathe in the scent of the air, it smelled like Vanilla and Sea Breeze, and home... I looked back to the Black paladin once again. He seemed to have a frown on his face. "Are you alright?" I asked. He snapped out of his gaze and smiled slightly. "Yes, I'm okay. I just recognise your voice from somewhere." He said. 'We're in the same boat.' I give a small reassuring smile. "I'm sure you'll figure-" I cut myself off. "Shiro?" I asked, suddenly putting the pieces together. "(Y/n)?" He questioned. I nodded my head, telling him that it was me. He engulfed me into a hug, I returned the gesture. "I'm so sorry I left you in there. I couldn't stop thinking about it!" He said, squeezing me tighter as if he was afraid that if he let go; he'd lose me again. "I couldn't stop thinking about if you were okay, or if you made it out of the ship! I was so scared when I came back from the battle and you didn't answer me." I cried. "It's okay, I'm here now, and I'm okay." He said, releasing me from his strong and comforting grip. I turned back towards the aliens. "We should probably get them back to their world." The yellow paladin inquires. Shiro nods. "We should. Care to join us (Y/n)?" Shiro said, holding his hand out. "I'd love to," I responded, placing my hand in his.

"The paladins of Voltron will be arriving shortly. (Y/n)!" My ears pricked at my name being called. "Yes, sir?" I asked. "You will greet them once they get inside since they are more likely to trust someone not wearing a mask." Kolivan commanded, all though his voice was kinder than how he spoke to the other members. "yes sir." I nodded, placing my blade in its hold on my back. "(Y/n). How many times have I told you to call me Kolivan." He sighs. "Sorry." I apologised. Kolivan was like a dad to me, but I was too afraid to call him that in front of everyone else, not just yet.
