Okay... So it is a story?

The purple sky was swirling and dancing above the two young children. For hours they would just lie there staring up at the trees which would sometimes shiver in the wind. It seemed the children were simply happy to be there, but really, they were trying to ignore the gravestones that were trapping them there on the small hill. Among the stones one could just make out the names of the children's parents, James and Rose Smith. The graves whilst creepy were normal. The church, however, was neglected, dusty and dirty with webs and cracks around each new surface one would think it was straight out of a horror film. Lizzy and Kye knew it well but truly hated it, they were born there when it was still clean, but they dream of it each night with a new grave appearing each time.

"Lizzy wake up!" a young boy with short brown hair called out" we have school!"

"so, what! I'm sleepy! Leave me alone John!" Lizzy cried sleepily.

"Kye! Please help me wake up your sister!" John pleaded.

"Fine I'll get up!" Lizzy sighed. Lizzy slowly pulled herself out of bed and dragged her twin brother Kye with her. The twins were identical right down to their shoulder length hair and clothes. Grabbing some toast John had left out for them Lizzy and Kye made their way to the living room where they turned on the TV.

"I told you it was a good idea to wear our uniforms to bed!" Kye called out from behind Lizzy triumphantly,

"well I told you to set an alarm, but you said that John would wake us up on time and look where we are now! We missed the first 10minutes of the news!" Lizzy snapped back with a giggle, they dashed back up to the bathroom to brush their teeth, and then went back downstairs to flop back into the couch.

"Breaking news! It seems another murder took place last night! Young Allison Phillips was found dead in her room at around midnight after neighbours complained about loud sounds coming from her room!" The news lady stated in her forever robotically bored voice, but by then the two had already trailed off. The grave that had appeared that night had her name on it, the grave had Allison Phillips on the cold surface of the stone in their dream.

"off to school with you three!" a sweet voice yelled "it's already 8:30!"

"ok auntie Joe!" Kye and Lizzy yelled back in unison,

"you two look after John over here, he's a year younger than you!" Joe told them

"Mum! I'm only one year younger! I'll be fine!" John cried

"your only 14! Stop trying to act so grown up!" Joe pleaded "I get worried you know!"

"does the little baby need a nap?" Lizzy teased

"you're going to regret that!" John yelled enraged at Lizzy's rude comment. The children ran to school chasing one another until they reached the front gate.

"ugh! School is so boring! At last we're free!" Lizzy was exaggerating, Wednesday was unusually Lizzy's favourite day of the week she had PE and was allowed in the hall for recess and lunch.

"we all know you enjoyed it, and if anyone has a right to complain it's me! I'm not good at any of my classes!" John stated, upset with his lack of brainpower and sporting abilities. They wandered home after having an almost entirely normal uneventful day.

"welcome back! How was your day?" Joe inquired

"uneventful." Kye stated almost as if he had read one of the previous sentences. After that the trio of trouble makers had dinner and went to bed.

That night when Lizzy and Kye slept they were joined on the hill by 5 more graves, the graves all had different names, and like the other cold slabs of rock, they appeared suddenly. The names read 'Tiffany, Rodger, Celeste, Jack Stevens and their family cat Rocky'. The purple sky grew darker each night, the world surrounding them slowly lost its gorgeous colour, the swirling sky became an abyss of darkness, the church, the graves and the ground became cold an uninviting. Each time they looked at the new graves they dreaded the news they would hear in the morning. However, after being in the weird dream world for what felt like days no one woke them up. They lay there expecting Joe to realise their absence at the TV and wake them up, but they slept on.

Growing bored of the eerie silence the two got up and explored the hill, they read the names of all the graves, then they began to stroll over to the church, not daring to venture inside they peered around the back. Behind the church they were shocked to find the reason no one woke them up. They saw John panicking and Joe as scared as she was trying to calm him. The reason for their fear were three things. One they couldn't speak, two they were having the same dream about the graves of the peoples grave from TV, and three there was a creepy man with a telescope suddenly appearing and disappearing around them.

However, Lizzy and Kye didn't know about the man, and that would be why they were never truly scared of the church on the hill.

"Hello everyone!" a large man with a dirty ripped shirt bellowed out to the worried group bellow him. The group in question jumped at that sudden sound.

His voice was abnormal the only ways Kye could explain it was rusty or bloody. "I see that this time you brought your friends with you, Kye and Lizzy", the children grew scared when they heard him utter their names with his foul mouth caked in blood and dirt.

"sadly you must die, I don't want anyone getting my little secret out, now do I?" the man continued "just be happy that I let you live up until now" they were all getting a little bored of the fat mans threats, they all wished they could talk so the could tell him to take a bath. But then Kye remembered the graves around them and tried to convey this message to Lizzy so she wouldn't do anything stupid Lizzy he thought don't attack him, he could really kill you!

Like you've got a better idea Kye! Kye was shocked his idea had worked! Thanks to it being a dream they could communicate with their thoughts! Well? Do you have a better idea?! Tell me Kye! Lizzy's strong point wasn't coming up with plans, so Kye kept thinking trying his hardest to ignore Lizzy's plan to fight him, he obviously had better control of this imaginary world. Then it clicked. Lizzy try to tell the others to imagine this world without him in it!

What? You mean like how you can tell someone to get lost? Right?

No, just tell them to imagine that he is not there! His plan was in motion the weird man's telescope was already beginning to disappear. The man was obviously not to smart because he had only realised what was happening to him after his whole hand had disintegrated and vanished in the cold autumn breeze.

"what do you think your doing?" the fat man wheezed" you little chickens!"

"excuse me! You're the one who is killing off people in their sleep, as well as threatening three kids and a kind young lady who can barely even kill a mosquito!" Lizzy snapped back. It seemed the fat man was trying to distract Lizzy to give him more time, but it wouldn't work. The fat man didn't know that Lizzy wasn't helping them to begin with.

So, without the mans noticing almost his entire body was gone, but then as the sand like substance began to lick up the sides of his neck the man yelped "mosquito! It bit me!" and with those words the man's very existence faded from the hill with the graves. Once the man had left the hill, the hill began to leave their dream. The church became a mound of leaves that blew away after the wind had began whistling past, the graves slowly grew into little piles of dirt that hid themselves in between the blades of grass. The sky that was at the beginning of that night black, faded out into a soft blue, with small clouds circling around a newly found sun. and at last the children and Joe woke up.

After the night that they had, John was sure to be asking them some questions so, Lizzy and Kye went back to sleep. They were still expecting to appear on the hill, but to their joy they were flying on the backs of birds and sailing into the sunset on a rainbow. At last they could have a normal life, with normal dreams.

(okay I did it, this is done. If anyone ever reads this I would be genuinely shocked, but I will most likely never add to this short story, so if someone out there in the world does like it then sorry)
