Chapter 1

––––Riley's pov–––––

I woke up to my alarm ringing. I immediately hit snooze and fell back asleep. The second time it rung I got up. I went into my closet to find something to wear. I put on a red crop top, ripped jeans, and high top vans. I put on a black oversized hoodie covering my fresh cuts and scars, and walked downstairs to grab something to eat.

I looked at my phone and it was time to leave for school. My parents were on a business trip, so I walked over to say bye to my dog. "Bye buddy" I said petting his head showing a half smile. I grabbed my skateboard and left for school.

I got to school, stepping on my skateboard popping it up. I caught it and walked inside. I walked to my locker, trying to ignore the dirty looks and whispers I was getting. I got to my locker and put my books and my skate board in it.

"Riley Summerfield to the Mr. Sawyer's office" the loud speaker announced making everyone look at me. "What did the slut do this time" I hear from behind me. I turn around to see my Jack and his friends laughing. I rolled my eyes and walked to the office. I walked into Mr. Sawyers office. I saw a boy sitting down in the chair across from his desk. He had brown curly hair, brown eyes and small cute freckles spread across the bridge of his nose. "Riley this is Finn" he gestured to the boy. He stood up his cheeks blushing, "I'm Finn, Finn Wolfhard" he stuttered. "Wolfhard?" I questioned giggling. "Riley, I chose you to show Finn around, don't make me regret this" Mr. Sawyer sighed firmly.

I nodded looking at Finn. "So can you show Finn around, help him get to his classes, and introduce him to people" he insisted. "Ugh, okay" I sighed rolling my eyes.

Finn grabbed his stuff and we walked out. Everyone was standing around the office waiting to see why I was in there. As I opened the door everyone turned around as if they weren't being nosy.

I saw Millie walking over to us so I walked away. "Wait aren't you supposed to show me around" Finn raised an eyebrow. "Figure it out Wolfhard" I giggled to myself rolling my eyes. He sighed as I walked down the hall.

––––Finn's pov–––––

"Wait aren't you supposed to show me where my classes are" I asked confused why she was walking away. "Figure it out Wolfhard" Riley replied rolling her eyes. I let out a sigh as Riley walked down the hall.

I turned around seeing a girl standing in front of me making me jump a bit. "You must be the new kid" she asked. I nodded, "You should stay away from her" the girl scoffed bluntly pointing down the hall. "Riley" I questioned. She nodded, I nodded back. I though about asking why but decided not to. "Well I'll see you around..." she paused. "Finn" I filled in. "I'm Millie by the way" she said blushing. "Maybe you could sit by me and my friends at lunch" she insisted with a smile. I nodded as she walked away.

I was looking for my class as I heard the bell ring. 'Shit' I sighed to myself. I finally found room 315, even though I was 5 minutes late.

I quietly walked in and everyone looked at me making me blush. "Class this is our new student Finn" the teacher said.

––––Riley's pov–––––

Finn walked in late, his cheeks were red as a tomato which made me laugh. "Class this is our new student Finn" Ms. Burns announced to the class. "Finn how about you take a seat next to Ms. Summerfield" she smiled. "Ms. Summerfield raise your hand" she smiled looking at me. I raised my hand slightly and made eye contact with Finn. He walked over sitting by me. "Long time no see" he joked. I looked at him giving him an unimpressed look. "That was funnier in my head" he blushed with embarrassment. I nodded looking back at my work. "Maybe you could sit with me at lunch" he insisted. "Eh" I sighed back. "Come on" he pouted. I shrugged, he nodded and and continued working.

Finn and I walked into the cafeteria to get our food. "You sure you don't want to sit with me" he grinned. I shook my head "Maybe another day Wolfhard" he nodded and walked to sit down. I walked into the hall to eat lunch there.

––––Finn's pov–––––

I looked back and Riley was gone. "You need to stay away from her" Millie said grabbing my arm making me sit next to her. "Why" I asked confused. They all looked at Jack he smirked and looked at me. "Okay well it started last year. Riley and I were dating at the time, it had been about 6 months of us dating" he said, I nodded. "And she wanted to fuck and I didn't, she said if I didn't she would break up with me, I said no and then she did." He looked down, "the next day she fucked him" he looked at a kid at the end of the table. I looked at him and he looked away quickly. "Oh" I nodded suspiciously.

"Hey" I heard a voice from behind me mutter as I started walking home. I turned around seeing the kid Jack was talking about at lunch. "Hi?" I questioned, "By the way, what Jack was telling you earlier wasn't true" he said. "Okay" I sighed unconvinced. "I'm serious, and if Riley found out he told you that she'd be mad" he looked down. "Then what's the real story" I asked crossing my arm. "Well, Jack wanted to fuck Riley and she said no, and he broke up with her because she wouldn't and the next day he fucked Millie. He switched the story so he didn't look like a bad person and that's why people think she's a slut" he sighed. I raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure" I asked. He nodded, "But don't bring it up to her, she'll get mad that I told you" he said. "Okay" I nodded believing him somewhat. He waved and we parted our ways.

I was almost to my house when I saw Riley walking into a house next to mine. She walked inside before I could catch her attention. I shrugged and walked inside. I walked upstairs into my room. I sat down on my bed looking out the window, to see Riley in her room. My window and hers faced each other. I smiled and continued putting my stuff away.
