A/N hahah it's been awhile, I procrastinate a lot, so the story may or may not be updated whenever, the song has no relevance to the story I just liked it, enjoy
Clove rolled over and fell to the floor with a thud, she groaned in annoyance and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she slowly sat up.
She looked over to the clock on the wall and sighed, it was only half six, half an hour before she had to be officially up.
She stood up and grabbed the empty coke bottle off the floor and threw it in the bin as she walked past the kitchen.
Clove decided to change out of the clothes she wore yesterday before making breakfast.
She grabbed the clothes she picked out for the day and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
Clove stood in the shower and watched some of the blue dye mix in with the water and run down the drain.
She was remembering the day that the policemen showed up and told her of the tragic deaths of her parents, apperently it had been a fast moving fire in the office where they both worked.
She had cried herself to sleep that night.
She now live alone on the bottom floor of a three story house on the edge of the wastelands. The neighbours above her were very nice, they didn't interact with her much, just a polite nod once in a while.
It didn't bother her much, she was quite an introverted character herself.
She turned the shower off and stepped out, shivering slightly as the cold air hit her.
After a few minutes she had dried herself off and gotten dressed and was currently headed towards the kitchen.
She grabbed a cereal bar and slipped her shoes on as she grabbed her keys.
Clove locked the door behind her and set off into the smog filled city.
In the daylight the city looked even more bleak, the neon signs that illuminated the way at night were turned off to conserve energy, and the thin rays of sunlight that managed to stream through the small gaps in between the giant skyscrapers that lined each side of the road, only illuminated the grey concrete buildings.
Clove was used to all this, it was the same view everyday as she walked to school before she headed off to work for the rest of the day.
She pulled up her mask as the smog was still extremely thick in the daytime.
The mood inside the classroom was hushed, recently a string of kidnappings occurred in the nearby areas, usually everyone would be gossiping about the disappearances, but it got all to real when a fellow classmate vanished two weeks ago.
Clove didn't mind the quietness as she put on her headphones and listened to music as she waited for the teacher to arrive.
Her first class was bleak, it was maths, she didn't care much for the subject, she honestly just drifted off and daydreamed.
"Clove" a tap on her shoulder roused her from the imagination, she turned around and saw the smiling face of one of her closest friends smiling at her.
Aaron sat across from her, arms folded as his best friend glared back at him.
"What?" she glared back at him, clearly annoyed that he had disturbed her daydream.
"mm, nothing, are you working today? If not we could stop by the arcade later, I've gotten better at Luigi cart" he retorted, ignoring her icy glare.
She sighed "I have an extra shift today since nick broke his arm last week, and can't work for a few months"
Clove honestly wished she could spend more time with Aaron, he was like a brother to her, he was there for her when her parents died. After school they parted ways and Clove walked to her job at the repair/antique shop.
As she walked down the winding roads and narrow lanes, she began to reflect on what's happened in the past couple of years.
First off there was huge nuclear power plant explosions all around the country, polluting the air with dangerous chemicals and making it impossible to walk outside without a gas mask on.
Second of all a epidemic spread, killing masses and leaving many hospitalised.
And then a new president came into power and put the whole city into lock down and refused the give anyone permission to leave
Basically these last few years the city has turned into a shithole filled with those unlucky enough to those that got trapped here.
As Clove approached the shop she noticed that the front window was shattered and the lights were turned off, which was most definitely unusual.
She turned the door handle and opened up the door.
The shop was in ruins, shelves were knocked over, the till had been ransacked and there were suspicious stains that looked awfully like blood trailing across the floor into the workshop.
She approached the back apprehensively, scared of what she might find.
The door was already cracked open and she decided to shine her phone's torch into the crack.
"hello?" she called out, when she didn't get a reply she pushed the door fully open.
She froze in her tracks at what she saw.
"fuck"
