The Fire Inside

   I was once told that I was destined for great things by an old friend of mine. For years, I spent my life as an outcast, separate from the rest of the world and the people in it. No friends, I was ignored by my parents, picked on everywhere I went. Nowhere was safe for me, until I met a group of people who wouldn't just become my friends, but become my family. These were people who saw more than the vulnerable loser that I thought I was, and dug deep into my heart to bring out the best of me. My life didn't get easier once I found those true friends, in fact it became harder. I lost a lot of them along the way. Some stopped liking me, some started hating me. A few died during the grand adventures of our life. No matter how many I lose, I will never forget them, and the effect they had on my life.

  Once I grew older, I met a kid who on the outside looked different, but in their eyes, looked the same as I did all those years ago. I saw the loneliness, and the rage that a life of abandonment had given them. Inside of you, there's a fire that you're born with. For most people, it starts to go out when they start to grow up, because that energy and joy for life is something a lot of adults see as immature. Take my advice, don't ever let that light go all the way out, it drives people towards greatness that most can only dream of. But it's not a dream for you, right now, even with all the possible futures there are in this seemingly lonely world, you can harness that fire inside of you to accomplish what your ancestors would have thought was magic.

  My brother was just like you. He had the biggest fire in his eyes I've ever seen, and all I ever did was make fun of him, and try to extinguish it. I took him for granted, and I never realized it until someone ignited my heart for the first time, and showed me the true power of imagination. This is the story of my life, and how I learned how to keep the fire going, and pass my will onto the next generations. You are destined for great things. Never forget it.
