I had finished packing everything and shoving a shitload of clothes into my suitcase, walking outside of my house to see Mey-Rin's car parked in the driveway. It was about four in the morning, I'm surprised she's even here at this hour. I was actually considering picking her up.
I walked toward the car to be greeted by a half-asleep Mey-Rin. I tapped the window lightly to catch her attention.
It worked.
Yay.
She looked over at me with a startled expression. She unlocked the car doors and motioned for me to get in.
I got in and looked at her, she looked as if she was about to fall asleep. "Mey-Rin, would you like me to drive?" I asked lightly nudging her shoulder to keep her from falling asleep. She nodded as we both exited the car, her getting into the passengers' seat. And me getting into the drivers' seat.
I started driving to the airport, our flight was at 6 A.M., so we had time to spare.
Once we arrived at the airport, Mey-Rin had gladly gotten enough sleep to go through all of the security. Once we had, we decided to stop and get something to eat.
We went over to a Starbucks in the airport, looking at the menu.
We made our orders, once we got what we wanted we sat down to eat.
-Le one hour later-
Mey-Rin and I were already on the plane, searching for our seats. We sat down as I pulled out a book and began to read. I saw Mey-Rin shifting in her seat, looking especially uneasy. I put my hand on her shoulder, at least trying to be reassuring.
.....
Hey, I don't like people, don't expect me to be good at reassuring others, or even making them feel remotely comfortable. She looked over at we with wide eyes, extremely surprised by my gesture. I would be surprised to. Like I said, I don't like people.
"Tha-"
"Don't get used to it.."
She smiled at me and rested her head against the seat. "I won't," She began, "But thanks anyway, I look forward to this mission.." She rested her hand on mine, closing her eyes. I glanced at her, surprised by her reaction.
I smiled slightly, relaxing a little more.
-After the plane ride-
Mey-Rin nudged my shoulder, waking me up from my nap. Goddamnit. My eyes opened faintly to see Mey-Rin standing in the aisle with all of the carry-ons piled on the floor next to her. Hm...I didn't realize how much stuff we brought until now.
Interesting.
I grabbed the bags and walked out of the plane with Mey-Rin.
