#Thank you so much for sticking around.#

I can't believe they're making me do this. I can't believe I'm doing this. Lesley had just finished securing the tents.
My heart was beating faster and faster every step I took. I never even felt this scared when battling Abyssal creatures.
What is this girl doing to me?
I agonisingly walked and stood next to her. 'H-Hey, Les. Can we talk?' I somehow found my voice, trying to sound steady.
'Of course, Gusion.' She said, then saw my face. It must have looked like I just murdered someone and got caught, because she then asked, 'Did something happen?'
'No, no, nothing happened.' Not yet. 'I just needed to talk to you.' I said. She nodded. 'Come over here.' I motioned her to follow me.
I brought her behind the campsite, and we stood in a clearing and the trees surrounded us. The moonlight and the dim faraway firelight allowed me to see her face clearly.
She's so goddamn beautiful, it should be a sin.
'Gusion, what is it that you wanted to say?'
I cleared my throat awkwardly. 'Les, remember the day we first met? We hated each other.'
Surprise crossed her face for a brief second, and then she laughed. 'Yeah, you called me formally. You didn't like it, so I used to get it back at you. Sorry.' She laughed again.
'It's okay. You didn't know.' I let out a small laugh. 'Then we missed Assassin Studies.'
'We talked until we didn't notice the time! I think only after that we stopped hating each other's guts.'
'Yeah, we did.' I smiled.
'Wow, seems like a lifetime ago.' She sighed, reminiscing. 'Is that what you wanted to talk to me about? You seemed so scared of something. I was worried.' She smiled.
For a moment, I contemplated to lie and say yes, but then eventually I would have to say something. I'm pretty sure I won't escape my friends' grasps easily.
'Well, yeah, not exactly.' I sighed.
'Oh. Okay, what is it then?'
I took a deep breath. My heart hammered against my chest. I swallowed. 'I know we didn't start right, and we didn't like each other at the beginning but-' The words got stuck in my throat, refusing to come out. She studied my expression, waiting.
'But what?' She asked hesitantly yet softly.
'I-uh, I think...I love you, Les.'
Wow.
That, was difficult.
So difficult.
'I love you, Lesley.' I said again, with more promise, realising how much I meant it.
She looked at me, her lips slightly parted. She seemed genuinely surprised. She didn't say anything.
I began to feel even more scared than before.
Did I mess it up? Is she going to kill me?
With the small amount of courage left in me, I called hesitantly. 'Les?' She looked hesitant, then did something completely out of the blue.
