The sun is blinding and I try to shield my eyes but I am too weak. The sand is hot under me. I hold up my tail to keep it out of the heat. I feel her grip tighten as she hurls me into a nearby stream.

I hit the grassy bank of the stream and fall into the water. It is still too bright to see but I hear her unzip her bag and take out the map. "Find him" she says to the old piece of parchment. She looks over the stream to the other side.

She splashes past me through the water. She climbs up the river bank and pulls out a can of gasoline. I drag myself up to her feet.

She opens the gasoline and douses the bridge next to us. She takes out a match and tosses it on the bridge. The bridge is suddenly engulfed in flames. She watches it burn and a smile trickles onto her face. She takes out the map, crumples it and tosses it into the fire. It burns immediately. "No. More. God. Damn. Bridges."

I vomit again on her shoes. She kicks me in the gut. I stumble over in pain. I hear the cries of terror emit from the burning bridge as the map dissolves into ash and nothingness. Then, there is silence. I know now that he is gone.
