Chapter 2: Love?

"Myoui Mina"

That name rung a bell to Chaeyoung, but she just couldn't put her finger on why it did.

Shrugging off her thoughts, she looked back up at Mina and smiled apologetically.

"Umm...a-as my way of saying s-sorry, I'll treat y-you to lunch?" Chaeyoung said nervously, well more like asked.

Mina just chuckled at the younger's nervousness, "Sure."

The two walked around the park, almost reaching their destination.

It was silent, but it wasn't really an uncomfortable silence, for some reason, they both felt comfortable with eachother.

As they walked up to the café, Chaeyoung - being the gentlewoman she is - held the door open for Mina.

"That was such a simple gesture... why am I blushing?" The flustered penguin thought to herself.

Noticing the redness in the older girl's cheeks, Chaeyoung chuckled to herself.

They both entered the café, finding a table to sit at.

"So, let's get to know eachother" Chae said, surprised she didn't stutter.

"Well...My name is Myoui Mina, I was born in Japan, but I moved to Korea...and I like penguins" Mina said, showing off her famous gummy smile.

Chaeyoung thought that was the cutest thing in the world, wanting to keep that image in her mind forever.

"You're so cute" Chae thought to herself, smiling.

"O-Oh, t-thank you" Mina said through blushing cheeks.

"Eh? Did I say that aloud" Chae said, a little caught off guard.

"Yea, you did, silly" Now it was Chaeyoung's turn to blush.

"W-Well, anyways, My name is Son Chaeyoung, s-strawberries are my favourite a-and I like tigers" Chae said quickly, changing the subject.

Mina found the flustered tiger cub adorable.

The rest of the lunch went smoothly from there, just talking laughing and joking, just generally enjoying each others company.

Alas all good things come to an end, they both bid their good-byes, exchanging numbers in the process.

As they exited the café an parted ways, they both had the same thought in mind; "Wow...call me crazy but I think I'm in love...".

"Sooo, is she cute?"

"Sana?!" Yelled the flustered penguin.

Once she had entered the dorm (A/N: just pretend) her friends had bombarded her with questions.

"I'm assuming that's why you're late from your "Morning Jog" huh?" Said Momo, munching on some Jokbal.

Mina just groaned in annoyance, "You guys are seriously taking this too seriously".

"Did you at least get her number?" Asked her squirrel-like friend, Sana.

The penguin just nodded her head shyly, feeling heat rise up to her cheeks just remembering it.

Unknown to Mina, while she was busy daydreaming about a certain tiger, her friends had already stolen her phone.

"Tiger Chaeng? Odd name, but okay."

"Yah! What do you think you two are doing?!" Yelled Mina.

Realization hit her as soon as she realized her precious phone was gone.

"W-Wait! What are you doing?!" Mina yelled, tackling the two other Japanese girls.

*Ping*

(A/N: I dunno what a phone notification sounds like)

The room was dead silent, no one dared to move.

"W-what was that noise?" Asked the penguin, getting more nervous each passing second.

Both Sana and Momo prepared their graves, "U-uhh...we might've s-sent C-Chaeng a m-message...".

3, 2, 1-

"I'm sorry you two Dimwits did what?!" Uh-oh, no one, and I mean no one, should ever anger a penguin...

Breathing out slowly, Mina looked at her best friends, planning both of their deaths.

She slowly picked up her phone and read the message they sent.

"Heyyy! I had a lot of fun today, we should hang out again, how about Tuesday? <3"

Mina looked at her phone in shock, Sana and Momo took that as their chance flee the scene.

"Deleting the message, that could always work, right?" Mina thought, sweating a bit.

Yet as she was about to do so, 3 dots appeared on the screen, Chaeyoung was typing!!

Mina panicked, thinking of different ideas on how to play this off cooly.

"Haha, I had fun too, and sure, Tuesday sounds great <3"

Mina let out a breath, super relieved.

"Is this love, cause I don't want this feeling to ever end~"

The once angry penguin now turned into a flustered one.

"Argghhh...did I really just think that?"

While she was having a mental debate with herself, a certain squirrel and raccoon were standing nervously at the door.

"U-Uh...Hey, Mina..." Sana decided to speak up first.

"W-We just w-wanted to apologize t-to you about e-earlier..." Momo said, fiddling with her fingers.

Mina shook off her thoughts and smiled at her friends.

"Apology accepted" Mina declared, opening her arms for a hug, to which the two Japanese quickly returned.

"Btw, I had a lot of fun today, can't wait for our next meet up~"

Mina smiled at the text, feeling her cheeks burn up.

"Oooh, someone's got our little Minari's attention~" Sana and Momo teased.

"...Okay, grab your pillows you're both sleeping outside." Mina said, pushing the two protesting Japanese's out.

Letting out a breath Mina didn't realize she was holding, she looked back down at the text.

"What are you doing to me, Chaeyoung?"

Mina thought, clutching her beating heart.

"I-I think I'm falling for you...but will you catch me?"
