The Witch

Conner's PoV}

I decided to take a walk in the park in the Mort to clear my head and get some fresh air, I opened my dorm door and sneaked down the corridor looking out for Lexie and my mates in case they pulled me along to whatever drunk fest they were at.

I successfully made it outside of the school and started walking toward the portal I decided to run through in case I was spotted, when I made it to the other side I started to make my way to the park. I started walking through, it was beautiful the trees lit up with fairy lights and the air quiet.

Just then I stumbled upon a drunk Eric I awkwardly tried to slip past him but he spotted me and grabbed my arm, my cheeks flushed red.

"Hey, do you have the drink I ordered?" He asked in a bit of a slur I couldn't stop staring at his handsome face.

"No, I'm just out for a walk to clear my head and get fresh air" I explained as he watched me intently he gestured me to sit down beside him. I awkwardly say yes and sat down beside him.

"What's on your mind, what's your name?" Eric asked staring into my eyes my heartbeat was going at a mad pace now.

"M-my names Conner" I answered staring back at him he smiled showing his perfectly straight white teeth.

"Oh yeah I remember you now" he let out a drunk giggle and my heart was sent into overdrive

"What's on your mind?" Eric asked me again waiting to listen to my woahs

"I recently told my girlfriend my sexuality and had a massive fight with her, whom I don't think I should be dating anymore as I gave her everything and she gave me shit all and she always made everything about her" I confessed glancing over at him seeing him listening made me feel accepted and comfortable

"Continue" he whispered beckoning me to continue spilling more stuff

"aaand today I saw someone that I know I can't have cause he has a girlfriend and probably isn't into me anymore. And probably hates me. So I've been in my room for the past 2 hours trying to get over him but it's not working" I explained everything to him without giving away that it was him, but he smiled at me.

"Maybe he's into guys and girls," he said looking at me with love in his eyes " if you don't mind me asking who is it maybe I know them," he asked looking at me

"I don't think you want to know" I spluttered looking at him

"Trust me conner I do," he said smiling at me knowingly

"It's you," I said getting up from the bench but he grabbed my arm and pulled me down

"Look Conner I've been defending you from the start, Mere always shit talked you and I said you were a great guy but misunderstood and I told Mere about my feelings for you but she forced me to date her friend Alex who cheated on me last week so yeah life's pretty shit at the moment" he confessed

{Flashback}
{16 years old}

"Eric, why did you help him back there?" Mere spat folding her arms grabbing her books from her locker staring at me with a disgusted look on her face

"You use your magic to hurt him and his friends and for what reason?" I asked wanting a genuine reason she finished grabbing her books and slammed her locker door

"Because I don't like him, ok?" She spat shoving her books in her bag and storming off down the corridor and out the front door

I went to my locker which was on the other side of the school to grab my books and go home. When I got there I saw Conner round the corner with a bloody nose and stitches in his forehead, he ran his fingers through his hair to fix a few stray hairs sticking out. He winced in pain when his hand brushed past his stitches tears welling in his eyes he rubbed his eyes to avoid the tears falling.
