Dedicated to lovenshit , I would do this for you without a second thought.
Reece's POV
"Nattie!" I knock for the umpteenth time on the bathroom stall," Nattie please, I know you're in there. People are asking where you've been." I sing our favourite part of Do You Want To Build A Snowman from Frozen, as another round of sobs sounds from behind the door.
"They say have courage, but I'm trying to. I'm right out here for you. Just let me in...."And at that precise moment, I hear the lock on the door come undone and the door swings open, revealing an awful looking Nat.
The pins that were holding down her hair were now hanging loosely on some strands of her hair. The little to no makeup she had on was now ruined and her eyes were puffy.
"He played me, Ree." She sobbed. I felt my heart break all over again, as I quickly engulfed her into my arms and rubbed her back soothingly whilst she cried on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I'm so, so, sorry Nat-"
"How stupid could I be, huh? I mean he is -" , she starts, her voice breaking when she lets out painful sobs.
"Hey, hey, hey." I cup her face, wiping her tears with my thumbs," it's okay. It's okay-"
"No, it's not okay, Ree. It's not. I was stupid and I gave him what he wanted. My dignity."
"You didn't know, okay." She looks to the ground in shame, but I raise her head up to look at me again,"Jase is a player, he's an expert at this, okay? He could've fooled anybody! You couldn't have known. Quite honestly I blame myself for this. I should've trusted my gut, I knew something was off"
I couldn't help but get outraged as I said this to her, my heart was boiling. This douchebag didn't just play with Nat but with me too. My father's words about using what he had taught me to defend myself before a blur and all I could this about was 20 different ways to break his bones.
Nat's hand touching my arm breaks me out of my violent thoughts. I think she knew what I was thinking seeing as she was giving me her 'don't you dare' look.
"Don't hurt him, I'm fine." She says through sniffled breaths, trying to wipe away her tears. I can't believe after what he just did to him she'd still try to defend him. "Please."
"Okay." I breathe, giving her a small reassuring smile," Now clean up and let's get to class. You look like shit." She bursts out laughing, and I join her. She gets to the sink and starts fixing up, and I watch her with a neutral face whilst anger boils inside me.
A minute or two passes, with Nattie fixing up her uniform and wipes at her tears before we head off to next period, which is a free. The empty halls give off an awkward vibe as I was quiet, thinking about all the ways that I can break Jase's face, and Nattie was too quiet drowning in her own sorrow.
We arrive in front our next class, which had noisey students bursting at the seems. We step in and the class goes dead silent, staring at us as we walked deeper into the classroom.
They know. I don't know how, but they knew something.
I look at Nat, finding her looking at the ground. I take her hand in mine, squeezing it reassuringly, letting her know that I've got her back. We make our way through the row of prying eyes, approaching our seats in the back of the class, next to Mac, our best friend. Nat still had her eyes on the ground as we got closer to Mac. She gave me a worried look and gestured to Nat, I only nodded at her in response, silently promising to fill her in later.
We sit down, Nat sitting in the chair between Mac and I. The eyes were still on us, and it was getting tiring. Annoying rather.
"Nattie, my dearest pal." We hear an all too familiar, annoying giggle, before the culprit shows herself. Samantha.
