Rosie could not stop thinking about the new girl.
She was introduced during their homeroom period, Rosie was busy doodling on her sketchpad—her favorite anime character, Lambo was his name—when the new girl was asked to come in front.
Rosie did not put any interest whatsoever, she was immersed in her own world, not until she heard that laughter that reverberated along her spine to her heart (if that makes any sense).
Her hooded eyes widened and she looked up from her sketchpad to the girl, she had bangs, and her hair reached her shoulders. She was certain the new girl was East Asian like her, since she obviously looked like she was.
It felt so strange to Rosie to have her heart beating in that way, usually that only happens whenever she was in deep trouble and her mum calls her by her Korean name, "Park Chaeyoung, you come here this instant!"; but this wasn't anything like that, she surely wasn't in trouble.
Or so Rosie thought.
"Introduce yourself, Dear." Their teacher Miss Lowry encouraged the new girl.
"G'Day," She started sheepishly, "I'm Jisoo, uh, I–" Jisoo paused as if to think of a better way to introduce herself, "I've just moved from Perth," She kept her gaze on her bored classmates, until she locked eyes with Rosie, a smirk tugged on the corner of her lips.
Rosie's heart beat worsened. She really did feel like she was in trouble, when she wasn't. She swallowed to still her heart beat to tranquility.
"Glad to be here to finish middle school, I guess." Jisoo shrugged and went back to her seat as Miss Lowry permitted her.
That moment stuck with Roseanne, she had no idea how she was still thinking about Jisoo two weeks later.
Something was definitely wrong with her, perhaps her older sister, Alice, would know what to do with her problems. She had always been helpful.
Usually people had this stigma among teenagers where they were too hormonal and unhelpful, but Alice, she was different, she wasn't cruel, she was too kind to her younger sister.
So, Rosie left soft three raps against Alice's door, "Alice?" Rosie asked, her voice timid, something in it said she was deeply perturbed by something.
"Come in, Rosie." There was a smile in Alice's voice, that enough had already eased Rosie's nerves.
"What's the matter?" Alice asked with her brows furrowed in curiosity and concern.
"I can't stop thinking about someone," This statement from Rosie had caused Alice to perk up.
It could mean a lot of things, and it could mean that maybe Roseanne had a crush.
Certainly Roseanne was still in fourth grade, people would argue that that was too young for someone to start crushing on someone.
Time was a construct humans created, it really only was an illusion, it never truly indicated anything.
Alice need to confirm if her baby sister was finally learning about attraction. "Why is that?"
"She bothers me," Rosie jutted her lower lip in a pout.
Oh, so it wasn't a crush, a possible rival maybe.
"She always looks at me with that smirk on her face, and I-I she makes me nervous," Rosie continued to vent.
"Does she bully you?" Alice put a hand on Rosie's arm.
"No!" Rosie shook her head, strands of her black hair getting to her face as she did, "No, her face just bothers me."
Alice felt unapologetic for bursting in a fits of amused giggles, "Jesus Rosie, I thought it was something serious." The older Park continued to laugh as she ruffled Roseanne's hair. "Just don't look at her face if it bothers you so much."

Rosie left Alice's room quite frustrated, she expected a lot from Alice, she expected a good advice, but she supposed they were absolutely right about teenagers being so unhelpful after all.
She was underwhelmed and she still had her Jisoo problem.
What was she supposed to do?
Then an idea came to her head, maybe if Jisoo would leave her school then she would finally be fine.
How was she going to make Jisoo leave?
Well she was going to ask her nicely through a...letter!
Rosie hurriedly moved towards her study desk and grabbed an A4 paper, a pencil and she began to scribble down on it.

The letter was given to Jisoo the day after Rosie had written it, specifically during their break.
"Hey, I have something for you." Rosie looked rather antsy, on edge.
She shoved a small envelope towards Jisoo's chest.
It wasn't until the end of the day where Jisoo had opened it.
Jisoo was sitting inside her older's brother car in the passenger seat when she did.
She carefully opened the envelope then took the neatly folded paper from it.
