After that door was closed, I was still frozen

After that door was closed, I was still frozen. I couldn't believe this. It's happening again.

Without a second thought or hesitation, I grabbed the envelope and put it into my pocket while running out of my office. I had to go get her and make sure she was safe.

I ran to the cafe where Jimin went with the kids. He was still sitting with them while they were chewing on their cookies. When he saw me rushing towards them, he stood up quickly, worried printed on his face.

''What's wrong? Why are you running?''

''I don't have time to explain, but could you keep the kids with you?''

Jimin could see it from my face that something was going on. He'd known me long enough to know everything wasn't okay now. And it wasn't about work. ''Of course.''

''I will call you!'' I said.

''Appa, where are you going? We were supposed to go to the park,'' Hangeum grabbed the hem of my jacket when I was about to leave again. I looked at him troubled, trying to make up the best lie. I hate lying to my kids, but the kid looked beyond worried.

''Umm... appa forgot something at home, something important for work. So what if Jimin takes you two to the park, and I'll meet you there?'' I tried to explain.

''You won't fire uncle if he comes?''

I was mentally facepalming myself. I don't have time for this, but of course, this confuses him when a few minutes ago Jimin couldn't come with us because he had to work and now suddenly he can.

''It's his work task now. Now appa really has to go, so we have time to play before we go get eomma,'' I waved and ran off.

I knew at this point that Jimin was really worried. I have to explain this to him once I ensure Y/n is safe. But how the hell am I going to explain this to her? Should I tell her at all and figure out this myself?

But how can I explain why I suddenly appeared at the library when I wasn't supposed to come to get her in hours. And without the kids? I can't leave her in that library. I needed to have her near.

I hopped in the car and drove fast out of the parking hall.

On the way, I tried to figure out possible ways to explain but didn't seem to get anything. I was at school in no time, and I parked the car quickly before running fast towards the library.

I opened the door, and my eyes were desperately looking for her. This seriously can't happen again. But soon, my breathing got steady when my eyes spotted her still sitting on that same table I saw in that phone call. She looked very concentrated and didn't seem to look anywhere else but at that computer screen.

I sighed in relief. Now, I must get her out of here without making her suspect anything.

I slowly walked to her, and when she lifted her eyes up for a second, she spotted me. I smiled awkwardly.
