Exam Scores:
"Whaaa! How the hell did you get a 97 in all your subjects!" Takashi surprisingly shouts.
"I don't see how it's a big deal, tests are useless, "applying" your knowledge onto paper is not that big of a deal. Besides I'm trying to get back into my family so I have to keep the spot of top of the class to even be noticed by them." I say with a bored sigh."
"I guess, but I can't believe the difference in intellect is that intense."
"Hey man, don't put yourself down. There just tests, I know how smart you can be. So don't worry about it too much."
"That's from the guy who doesn't need to worry about his marks and scores Mr. Top of the class." Takashi says with a spout on his face.
"Hey, you"re right. Sorry about that. But I guarantee you will do better on the next exam. Your a prodigy after all just like me."
"Thanks man, I'll keep working at it. At least I'm keeping up with the class." Takashi says with a smile on his face.
"Yeah keep your head held high."
A faint conversation I start to overhear from the group of girls sitting next to me.
"Who is that girl, getting a 98 on all her subjects? Is she really from the slums or is she a government experiment built for success." (girl 1) "She must of cheated or something, there's no way that's even possible." (girl 2) "I bet Kazuki is going to be pretty pissed off by that, with his tough past and his goal in rejoining the Haiku family." (girl 3)
I start to regain consciousness about the situation. I open up my eyes with an angry grunt. I clinch my fists and go to the leaderboard with all the scores. I scroll through the listed names and reach the top. Pressing my finger against the first person on the board with the highest overall score.
I begin to mutter the words that would never cross my mind to even acknowledge.
"I'm not first, I'm not the best, I'm not top of the class. The bitch Yuki Zura is. What the hell is going on!"
"The atmosphere of the classroom starts to change, the aura of everybody is dark and filled with jealousy. Everyone stares at me looking at the name on top. The silent tone and envious looks. The anger and frustration they can tell dwelling inside me starts to overflow."
"Good morning everyone, I hope we all have a good day today!" A cheerful response in the background. "What is wrong today, the atmosphere of this class feels thick."
"y...y..Yuki Zura." I say with my teeth crunching against each other. "Just who the hell do you think you are.
Everyone eyes glued to me and her.
"Kazuki what are you talking about?"
"You know damn well what's going on! How can you be so oblivious and pretend on not knowing!"
She stops, and walks out of the room. Ignoring what I just said. I chase after her and grabbed her wrist tightly with anger about to burst from my body.
"Can I help you?" She says with an innocent face. "Do you mind letting go of my hand, you're being very harsh to a girl you just met."
I let go of her wrist and clinched my fists. "What's your problem, I'm the person who is supposed to be top of the class for every test, project, exam! I worked my ass off for the title and you just barge in and take the top like it's nothing."
"I don't know what to say, I guess I got lucky on the exam that's all." She explains innocently.
"Lucky, lucky! Lucky my ass! You're from the slums with an unknown family name who got lucky on her enterance exams and you expect me to believe that you got lucky to score the highest in the class, no the whole frickin grade!"
