So it wasn't surprising when you decided to move to a home that no one wanted since it was rumoured to be haunted.
Actually, you only decided to move there because it was an affordable, nice house and so you could spite your friends who were terrified of that place. You wanted to prove to them that there was nothing wrong with the place.
Oh, how terribly wrong you were.
The first few weeks were completely normal, but eventually you started hearing odd noises at night.
One night, you got fed up with the disturbances and got up, annoyedly walking over to the source of the sound.
It came from the attic.
You hadn't really touched it- so it was full of boxes and trinkets from the previous owners.
Still, there was no sign of life in there. The sounds had stopped.
You were about to go back down when the trap door slammed shut and you noticed a piece of paper on the ground right next to it.
