It's been a few months since Thor went with the space misfits, leaving Valkyrie to be king. It hasn't been easy, but with the help of occasional visits from some Avengers, she has managed to keep New Asgard running smoothly.
Valkyrie was sitting on her couch when she heard a loud, frantic bang. She opens the front door to her small shack to find Korg and Meik.
"What is it?" she asked. annoyance lacing her voice.
"There's an outsider here. Won't tell us her name or really anything. Just that she's looking for Thor," Korg says.
Something in Valkyrie triggers when she hears her best friend's name. After getting more information from Korg on what this newcomer looks like and her whereabouts, she storms off, eager to find this girl and make sure she isn't going to do anything bad to Thor.
She arrives at the bar Korg told her the girl was. That's when Valkyrie sees her. Admittingly, she's hot. Long black hair streams down her back, as she's wearing a dark green leather jacket with a black tank-top underneath. This is matched with black, ripped jeans and a belt with knife holsters. The girl turns around and looks at Valkyrie. Her emerald eyes shimmer, outlined with thick mascara and green eye shadow. Her lips were painted with black lipstick that outlined her smirk.
The girl stands up, tossing some money on the counter and walks towards Valkyrie.
"Who are..." Valkyrie starts before the mystery woman places a long finger with a black and gold fingernail on her lips.
"Sssshhhh love," she says in a thick British accent, "I'm here to talk to the King."
"You're looking at her," Valkyrie says, crossing her arms.
"In that case..." In a blink, Valkyrie was surrounded by a shimmering green mist.
When the mist cleared, she was on a dock with the woman. Valkyrie grabs her knife and holds it up to the mystery lady's throat.
"Who are you?!" she yells, more demanding.
That's when the shimmering mist covers the girl and fades to reveal...
"Loki," Valkyrie gasps, dropping the knife and cupping her mouth, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes.
"Hello, darling," he says.
She darts towards him, wrapping her arms around his waist, burying her face in his chest. He does not hesitate to wrap his arms around her.
She looks up at him, eyes red and puffy from crying.
"But...but Thor said you..." she trails off with a sob.
"It's alright darling," he says, rubbing her back.
"But, how?" she asks, hugging him tighter as if the moment she would let go, he would disappear.
