Named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune, Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva, the Ganesh Himal range can be seen clearly from the Kathmandu Valley, Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV are quite prominent, the "Great Himalayan Chain" forming a magnificent skyline.
