Ashton's POV:

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing on my nightstand, begging to be noticed. I grown in agony, rolling over in bed in a attempt to ignore it. It was a Saturday morning, and I like to sleep in on weekends.
After a few moments, it became clear that the damn thing was not going to shut up unless I answered it. Mumbling curses under my breath, I reached over and in one swift movement had the blaring device in my hands, managing to answer the call without opening my eyes.
"What?" I practically growl, annoyed at whoever it was disturbing my slumber. Whoever it was would be in for a nasty surprise whenever I saw them next.
"Wow, Ash, how nice of you." The voice responded sarcastically, and instantly my eyes shot open in surprise. It was my older brother, Aaron.
"Oh, hey! What's up?" I greeted him more enthusiastically, happy he had called me. It had been about a year since he and his best friend, Corey Scherer, had packed up and left to L.A. I hadn't seen either of them since, and to be honest, so really missed them.
"Oh, you know, wake up, sip coffee, beat Corey at Mario kart, the usual." Aaron responded with a joking lilt in his voice. I could tell he was smiling over the phone. "What about you, Ashy?" He added.
I sighed. "Well, I miss you and Corey like crazy. I'm getting pretty good money at my job, it's just that, I don't know, I just don't feel happy here, you feel me?" I pour my heart out, looking around my cramped studio apartment, wishing I could leave it all behind.
Aaron makes an 'uh huh' noise and I know that he does understand. That's why he and Corey left; to be somewhere they could be, well, themselves.
The line goes silent for a moment as I hear muffled voices over the line. I raise my eyebrows, confused, straining to hear what the voices are saying until they stop and Aaron is back.
"Do you think you'd be happier out here? You know, with us? Plus, L.A.'s pretty chill. And crazy. You'd fit right in." He asked, sounding like he was trying to convince me. I sigh longingly.
"Of course I would be happier there, Aaron. But I don't have the money to live out there by myself, plus-"
"You can live here, with me and the guys! And Devyn, of course. Do you want to? Please, Ashy?" He begs, probably making his pouty face. But there was no need to beg. I was sold on the idea.
"Hell yeah I want to! I've been wanted to go out there since you guys left! Plus, I wanna meet your friends, they sound awesome." I agree, smiling so wide my cheeks started to hurt.
"Yes! Okay, I'll let them know. Get packing, I'll book you a flight for Tuesday, okay?" He asked as I heard the sound of a laptop opening, probably for him to go online and buy the tickets. Damn, he works fast.
"Yeah, sounds good, I'll see you then!" I replied, unable to wash the smile off of my face.
"Alright, see you then. Bye!" He says in a silly voice. I laugh before answering.
"Bye, doofus." I ended the call, falling back into my bed with wide eyes, unbelievably excited at what just happened. I was moving to L.A. I was moving to L fucking A.
Hell yeah.
I jumped out of bed, immediately beginning to pack items into my suitcases. I wanted to leave as soon as possible, so there's no use wasting time.
~ Time skip to that night~
I had filled three suitcases full of the absolute necessities. I'd be able to buy whatever else I needed once I was out there, I reasoned with myself.
I flop onto my bed, exhausted due to all the packing, falling asleep immediately.
