The next morning Iris stopped by Jitters before going to work. She was holding coffee and had placed it on Barry's desk. I brought you a latte Mr Allen. Iris said, placing it on the table. Thank you Miss West. Barry said as he took a sip of his coffee. You can go to your office, I'll call you if I need anything else. He said before Iris left the room. But before Iris could leave, a tall, older looking man was standing in the doorway. You must be Barry's new assistant. I'm Henry Allen. The man said holding out his hand. Iris West, she said shaking his hand. A pleasure. I own and run Allen Corp. My son here, works for me. Henry glances over at Barry. Your dad is your boss? Iris said, sounding surprised. Apparently yes. Barry said giving a nod. Well, welcome to the team. We're happy to have you here. Henry said smiling. Thank you and it was nice meeting you Mr Allen. Iris said before disappearing out of the office.
Iris had her own little office where she did her other work. It wasn't classy or elegant, but it was something. And Iris loved it.
That night, after work, Iris had gone over to her friend Sara's house. So, how did it go? Sara gives Iris a fleeting quizzical look. I think it went really well. Iris says. And Barry? Sara arches an eyebrow at her. What about him? Iris said, confused. What's he like? Sara said, being inquisitive. What can I say? He's a nice guy. Iris sighed. I guess he was kinda cute. Oooh, I think someone has a crush. Sara said, as she teased her-when the doorbell rang. Standing on Linda's doorstep is their good friend Ralph. Ralph! Good to see you! Iris gives him a quick hug. Ladies, I have arrived. He grins, his bright eyes twinkling. So, what are you two doing tonight? Ralph asked. He's tall and in his jeans and t-shirt he's all shoulders and muscles, light brown hair and sweet bright eyes. Nothing much. Sara says from the couch. Well, let's go out then. He said, putting his hands on his hips. Okay, I'm down. Sara said as she got up from the couch. I don't know, Iris says, undecided. Oh come on, it will be fun. Sara said.
After Sara and Ralph convinced Iris, they were finally at a club. Lights were flickering and music blasted in the background. Sara and Ralph were dancing. Iris didn't feel like dancing, so she went to the bar instead and got a drink. Iris was engrossed in her drink, she hardly paid attention to what was going on around her. Then, for some reason, she glanced up and turned her head... And found herself locked in the bold green gaze of Barry Allen who's standing at the bar counter next to her, staring at Iris intently. Miss West. What a pleasant surprise, what are you doing here? He said grinning. I'm here with my friends, Iris turned to the direction of the dance floor to find her 2 friends busting it out on the dance floor. And why aren't you up there, dancing with them? Barry cocked his head to the side. Oh, I don't feel like dancing. Iris shrugged. Oh, come on, you have to dance. Barry said, gently pulling Iris off of her seat. And besides, it's gonna be more fun now that I'm here. Barry grinned as they made it to the dance floor. Just dance by Lady Gaga had just started playing. It took a while but soon Iris got in to it. For the first time in forever, she was having fun. Her and Barry danced side by side as they cherished the night.
