The asexual flag is four colors: black, white, grey and purple. Like the rainbow pride flag (or the LGBTQ+ flag), these colors also have meaning.

Black: represents asexuality

Grey: grey-sexuality (a grey area between Asexuality and sexuality) or demisexuality (which is an attraction to a person you've known for a while, you have to have a connection. echo1110 can explain it better than I can XD) (echo1110 input: basically you don't feel sexually and/or physically attracted to someone until after getting to know them)

White: Sexuality

Purple: Community

Who created the flag?: According to asexualityarchive.com the flag was created in 2010 by users on a website called AVEN (aka, asexuality.org or The Asexuality Visibility and Education Network)

Why was this design chosen?
Some flag designs that were submitted to become the new asexual flag had hearts or triangles on them or looked like country flags. It would have led to confusion or other similar problems. To avoid this problem, the simple black, grey, white and purple design was chosen. Besides, as asexualityarchive.org points out, it's easy to draw!
