zak dropped his bags at the door and threw himself on darryl's soft couch and let his body sink into the cushions. "i'm so glad to be off that uncomfortable airplane." zak said. darryl sat on the cushion next to him and zak laid his legs on the the others lap. "i'm so glad to be here with you, truly." zak said softly. darryl was only used to the boy saying sweet things like this to him on occasion. "oh! i'm glad you're here too, you muffin!" darryl smiled to himself. zak pushed himself up so he was sitting and rested his head on darryl's shoulder. darryl's eyes went wide and his face heat up. "what's wrong, baldy, you have a crush on me or something?" zak noticed and teased the other boy. "i- wha- no! and i'm not bald!" darryl exclaimed. zak laughed and then went quiet. a few seconds passed by. "zak? zak? oh. he fell asleep." darryl smiled at the sleeping boy leaning on him. "he's so cute." he mumbled.

he wrapped his arm around the sleeping boy. he knew he couldn't stay like this forever though he wanted to. zak looked so peaceful when he was sleep. it made darryl want to kiss all over his face and hold him close. darryl quickly pushed that thought down and slowly shifted off the couch until zak was lying down. he went into his room and got him a blanket to put over him. as he was tucking the other boy in, zak woke up. "...darryl?" he said sleepily. "yes zak?" "i love you." darryl felt his heart skip a beat and was taken aback. "i love you too." he said softly. zak closed his eyes back and darryl turned off the living room light.

darryl went to sleep that night feeling giddy. seeing sleepy zak telling him that he loved him made him feel like a teenage girl in a cheesy romcom. it gave him hope. he decided that within the 4 days zak was staying, he would confess to him. he had set his alarm for 9 o' clock in the morning. he wanted get up early and get ready to take zak to breakfast. he remembered the moments where zak leaned on this shoulder and slept, missing that same warmth from the boy. maybe this would work out, after all.

darryl woke up to his alarm sounding, he groaned and rubbed his eyes and stretched. he turned off the loud ringing and quickly collected the clothes he would wear on what he would like to think would be a breakfast date. he grabbed a towel and went to the bathroom to have a quick shower. feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day afterwards, he walked out, hair still a little wet, into the living room to see zak. zak was still in his slumber on the couch. "wow, his morning hair even look cute." darryl said quietly. he shook the sleeping boy a little. "wh- huh? oh. do you even know what time it is?" zak whined as he rubbed his face. "almost 10?" darryl said, a little confused. zak threw the covers pushed himself up off the couch. "i'm hungry." he stated, his voice raspy from just waking up. "you're in luck, i'm taking you out for breakfast! we're gonna have fun today." "awesome!" zak said, feeling a little more excited about the morning. he rummaged through his bags and pulled out an outfit and changed in the bathroom.

he walked out looking a lot more presentable. darryl gave him a small smile, admiring him. "ready?" he jiggled his car keys as he stood by the front door of the apartment. "yep! by the way darryl... uh... you look cute today."
