I closed my eyes, as the airplane fell from the sky. Everything was rushing downward. I heard screams and whispers of fear around me, but I stayed quiet. A loud 'BOOM!' broke the uneasy silence, and searing heat rushed past my face.
Everything that had ever happened in my life rushed back to me.
My first day of Elementry School.
My first A on a report card.
All the times me and my best friend, Sava ,went to the movies.
My best 'Boy-friend', Luke.
And it all happened so fast. A moment later, I was face-down, restign on blades of grass and heaps of mud. I smiled, ready to let the darkness take me. I took a deep breath, and-nothing.
For a moment, I was scared. Was I going to stay here, frozen, forever? I shivered.
I moved my arm. Suddenly, I felt light. All negative thoughts vanished from my head. I moved my head. I stood up. "I-I'm...ALIVE!" I shouted joyfully, springing up into the air. I glanced at my feet after floating down. I only saw grass. I was to exicted to care.
I danced over to my mom, only a few feet away, and tried to pull her up. I had no sucess.
"Come on!" I urged my mother. "Get up!"
Her glazed eyes stared blankly up into the dark sky. I blinked, and a single tear landed on her nose, sliding down to her mouth.
For a split second, I could have swore her arm twitched.
I touched another body nearby, a girl of about 19, and her eyes opened. She seemed confused, then noticed me. She jumped up, grinning.
"Hello. I'm Mary. And this is John," She added, glancing at the boy next to her. They bumped fists.
"Being alive... is sweet!" Crowed John. "Even as a Invisible."
I cocked my head. "The Invisibles..." I muttered.
John's eyebrows raised, and Mary just smiled. "C'mon! We'll show you!" And with that, she floated up and offered her hand.
