make the stars look like they're not shinning.

He sang out the lyrics without breaking an eye contact with me. I stood there stunned, listening to him sing The Way You Are from Bruno Mars. I love this song and he singing it made it sound awesome with his amazing voice. I couldn't be more happier than anyone present here.
Half through the song, he walked to my direction while singing the chorus.....
Upon reaching me, he stopped singing and smile at me. I smiled back being fascinated by his smile. "I love you Khaellin Sams". The least word I expected from him.
I know he likes me and I also like him but I never realized that his feelings for me has changed from like to love. I wish I could love him back but I can't... Just can't. I can't love.
"What do you say Lin?" He asked, his question brought me back from my thoughts. I realized everyone is watching us and waiting for what I've got to say.
   "I.. I ..." I couldn't bring myself to say the four letter word, I wanted to say it to him, I really wanted to but it seems too heavy for my thin lips. I saw confusion and fear in his hazel eyes.
Those around started chanting, "say you love him.. say you love him.." I wish they can see the battle going on inside me.
"Lin, you don't have say anything if you don't w...." I pulled him by neck and kissed him. He was surprised at my gesture but wrapped him arms around my waist and  kissed me back.

"Dave"
"Yes Lin"
"Thanks for today, I'm really grateful, but you should have at least tell me or a clue would have do."
"Nope, it was supposed to be a surprised of which I'm glad it happened successfully."
"What if I didn't show up, What would you have done?"
"I knew you won't turn me down my love,
Lin, you were surprised when I said I love you right?"
I nod my head, not knowing what to say.
He then continued, " I didn't know when I started falling in love with you, but what I realized is I'm in love with you Lin and I've not regret it. You see, all these happened so fast and I know you need some time to think through. I know you like me and I'm glad about it, I don't mind loving you whilst you don't love me back, but I promise you Lin, I will do everything possible to win your heart. Just give me the chance to love you."
I nodded again, and said to my heart, please accept him and let's love him back.

I and Dave has been going out for a while now. He is tall, mascly build, soft looking cute lips, perfect shaped nose and warm hazel eyes. He is what my friends call hot but I don't see him as hot guy. Yeah, he is one of the popular guys in our school and many girls fall at his feet but one thing I got to know about him is, he doesn't give attention to all those whores that throw themselves at him. He has this saying that goes, a hard earned fortune is dear to the heart. Whenever he says this, I remember when I first met him.

Flashback

I was going to spend the next two hours in detention room. I hate this, I get detention almost everyday all because Liam won't just let me be. He is so annoying, well we are all annoying but his annoyance is extreme and always get us into trouble. This afternoon, he chose to quarell with a girl during anatomy and when I tried to stop him, he shouted at me which I didn't take it lightly so decided to tell back at him. This got us detention.
"I hate you Liam" I told him on our way to detention.
"You wished" he stuck his tongue out at me and I started running after him.
Whilst running and laughing, I didn't see what was in front of me and slammed into the wall... Well, or what I thought was a wall.
"Watch where you are going young lady" I looked up to meet a hazel eyes looking down at me with an angry look.
"I'm sorry, I was in hurry"
"Oh yeah, I nearly forgot,  hurry to detention huh, your favorite room in this big campus"
How did he know I got detention? whatever he doesn't have the right to talk to me like that.
"It's none of your motherfucking business if detention room is my favorite. You don't have any right to talk to me any how you want young man."
"Or else, so you rather have the right to slammed at me with all the force you were running with right?
Answer me young lady"
"I told you I'm sorry for crying out loud. You are just trying to be a dickhead" I retorted back and saw a change in his expression but I cared less. " You know what, I'm on my way to my favorite place as you call it and if you don't mind, I will leave first. And mind you, don't talk so harshly to a girl again because it ain't nice thing to do as a gentleman as you are."
With that, I stormed off to detention still thinking about this guy I just met. How on Earth did he even know I've been getting detention, or... wait, is he having some classes with me or what?
But he doesn't look familiar too.
Whatever, whoever he is I don't care.
The next day, I saw him at the cafeteria eating alone. I told Liam to get our food whiles I went to sit at the seat across from him and said "hi". He looked up and saw me but returned his attention back to his food ignoring me completely.

"

I'm Khaellin, care to tell me yours?" I asked him knowing very well he might not mind me.
"No need to tell me your name, I know it already, and I'm Dave. Can  you please leave me alone?"
"I came here myself so I will leave if I want to" I answered sarcastically.
I continued talking when he didn't say anything, "so I was wondering how you were able to know I had detention yesterday and the fact that I've always been having detention. Do you happen to be in one of my classes or..."
"It doesn't matter how I got to know, now can you please leave me alone, or are you also trying to throw yourself at me? "What??? Me throwing myself at him, what made him thinks so, I've never had that idea of even going out with him. Looking pissed, I yelled at him "what the hell are you talking about, do I look so desperate to you? Answer me, or do I look like a whore, let me tell Dave or whatever you call yourself, I don't like you and I will never like anyone like you. If you care to know, I'd rather be single forever than to be with someone like you. Dumbass!!!"
With that, I left the cafeteria angrily, forgotten I came with Liam who is taking care of our food.
