We just stared at each other awkwardly.

“ Your moms in the arena. She told me to get you, apparently there's some new gut coming in today. I hope he's cute.” Jo rushed into the lounge. She stopped and stared at Blake. I crossed Mt fingers, don't do it, don't do what I'm pretty sure you're going to do. Telepathy would be really help full right now. “ Well hello there. Guess karma is real, I've been so good lately and its finally paying off. Unless of course I'm dreaming. I re-” She started speed talking, a special talent of hers. The rest of what she said was basically unintelligible. She suddenly leaped onto Blake and hugged him like a koala.

She did it, she really just did. Obviously my powers haven't appeared yet.

“ We can be best friends! ” She said enthusiastically, her face still pressed against Blake so it came out a bit mumbled. Normally I was the bold crazy one, but when it came to guys, we reversed roles.

“ Let's go find mom” I suggested quietly.

“ Oh Yeah! Come on hottie, er I mean new guy.” She said not even fazed. She grabbed my arm and skipped out of the lounge, dragging me along behind her.

“ He's so cute.” She whispered, barely audible to me. I grunted in response. Jo speed walked to the lesson ring. She was obviously excited, and who could blame her, he really was cute.

We made it to mom and she grinned at Blake. “ Hi, Blake, we've been expecting you.” My mom greeted him warmly. “Alex, why don't you give him a tour of the barn? Once you finish, show him the guest room and let him get settled in.”

“ Yes ma'am.” I responded. Jo pouted besides my mom. She obviously wanted to go too. She knew better to say anything though, my mom was pretty strict at the barn, she had a professional reputation to uphold.

I led Blake around the barn. I explained the basic layout of the stables. There were a few different barns. The main barn was the biggest and was divided into four sections. each section had an indoor ring for boarders to ride in and There was about thirty stalls all facing inside towards the ring. Each section had a wash stall and a tack room. Horses halters were hung on a hook outside the stall door along with a clipboard with all their information on it. The four sections each contained a different kind of horse: One was filled with the barns lesson horses and ponies, one was filled with show horses, another had boarders horses and the last one was horses going through training.

We also had a quarantine barn with about ten stalls and its own separate paddock, it contained it's own tack room. We also had a breeding barn, although it was rarely used. A short distance away was a rectangular barn that we called the psych ward. The barn was built around a large round pen, perfect for working with its occupants. This barn was filled with high spirited horses who were often hard to manage. They were kept separate to reduce the numbers of accidents. Many of the horse in there could be extremely wild, therefore dangerous to anyone inexperienced with horses. Last but not least, we had a sales barn. We kept horses in there that were for sale, we were a large well known barn and people often came looking for horses, so it made it easy to just direct people to the sales barn instead of pointing out every horse for sale.

We also had tons of paddocks. All the horses got out to graze daily, unless there was a request not to, or if there was a health issue. Each barn had its own paddock and we had about eight paddocks that were completely separate from anything.

There was also an extensive network of trails, and it stretched onto our neighbors property. We had good relationships with our neighbors on all sides so they allowed us to ride on their lands as long as we behaved. That was actually how Jo and I had met, our families had been partners for generations now. Her family owned a farm next door.

Blake looked exhausted by the end of the tour, I don't blame him, it was a huge property. I lead him inside and showed him the guest room.

“ Thanks for showing me around, I appreciate it.” He said, gratefully.

“ No problem, its kind of my job.”  I said cooly.

“  Oh, okay.” He said. He seemed disappointed, but I have no idea why.

“ Okay, well see you later then.” I said as my parting words.

“ Definitely. ” Blake whispered softly. I turned to leave with a big smile on my face. Being the graceful person I am, I slipped and fell. Or maybe not. Something stopped me before I hit the ground. I peeled my eyes open to peek up at Blake, my rescuer. He smiled down at me.

“ Be careful, please?” He pleaded.

A/N: Short but cute. I know the barn tour was boring but I hope I made up for that with the Blex cuteness.
