you stood there in the restricted section, listening intently to the conversation taking place in the main part of the library.
"what. the fuck. just happened."
"i don't know parvati why don't you tell me? you are the one who told me to open the door aren't you?"
"i didn't know there was a snake in it! i really did see y/n going in there..."
"well where is she then???"
"oh my god"
"what?"
"i saw y/n go in, then, i saw a snake go out. now i don't know if you noticed, but that snake wasn't acting all that much like a snake, was it?"
fuck. fuck. fuck. fuuuuuuck.
"are you saying—"
but before he could finish, you heard fast, heavy footsteps headed towards you. you dashed behind a bookshelf and closed your eyes. but it wasn't long until you opened them, feeling a firm grip on your shoulder. you turned towards the owner of the hand. your eyes widened, seeing who it was.
"i can explain—" that was a lie. you could not, in fact, explain. not that it mattered. before you could even try to stutter out some far fetched excuse, you were pinned against a wall.
"so," you heard his low voice in your ear. wow. wow. not what you were expecting. "answer me just one question- did you, or did you not turn into a snake in that cupboard, and, just how much of mine and less conversation did you hear."
"that's two questions," you said, having forced some of your confidence from earlier in the day back into your system.
"don't be a brat" he said, still incredibly close to your ear.
you managed to push your potential feelings for him to te side, and flipped him around so that he was against the wall, and you were pinning him there.
"eager?" he said, smirking.
"just returning the favour" you would have said it into his ear, like he did to you, but he was somewhat taller than you. he flipped you both around again.
"don't go getting an attitude" he didn't say it into your ear this time though. he stood about 5 centimetres away from you, looming, threatening to push himself fully against you. he looked you up and down. your confidence crumbled like a big fat block of feta cheese.
"i-" you sputtered. you didn't finish though.
"oi. i'm sorry to interrupt your..." parvati coughed. "private time. but we still need an explanation on you turning into a snake. well. not really an explanation. i covered that. what i need is a confession."
//a/n: i know lee kind of like just disappeared but it's fine just ignore that k love yall//
"o-oh" you attempted to wriggle out of seamus' grip. he backed off. "well, um. if it's a confession you need you have it."
"no way. really?"
"yep."
seamus looked at the two of you confused. "i'm sorry but what exactly are yous on about?"
"y/n's an animagus." said parvati proudly.
"what?"
"an animagus, yknow, a person who can-"
"yeah i know, calm down you're not granger. i'm just kind of shocked. isn't it really hard to become an animagus? and you did it without anyone knowing til now? don't you have to keep some weird leaf in your mouth for a month?"
"remember when i had 'laryngitis'"
"sneaky bitch." seamus uttered under his breath.
"well. i'm going back to the common rooms. i didn't really get to finish my nap earlier and i have d.a.d.a homework."
without another word, you left. that was, to say the least, probably the most awkward encounter of your life.
you heard parvati and seamus exchanging a few words as you left.
"you should make a move you know. like a proper one."
"i did."
"well go finish what you started then."
"yeah i was kind of planning on that."
"good. because i really don't think she's going to reject you."
oh.
