It was just another heated summer Friday noon at Riverdale High..corridors echoeing with laughter and cheer as the last of the kids disappeared out into the parking lot and soon out of sight.
Beth hip-to-hip with Cassi,waltzed out of Mr Goggles' detention class;with untidy pen-marked hands and untucked shirts, the two giggled as they exchanged reminiscents of the awfully long day.With a peck on the cheek and a casual embrace, Beth waved to her bestie who catwalking towards a guy down the corridors ."See ya tomorrow Bethz"..her last words echoed in the empty spaces as she too, disappeared,adjusting her uniform..
Beth smiled slightly at the thought of their incompaniable friendship: Beth and Cassi ..Cassi and Beth
One had it all :the rich family, best life money could buy and scouped every popularity trophy when it came to her easy way with people.. The other didn't have much of a pleasant childhood, mother was a janitor at the school ,father disappeared and ..well..she didn't have that many friends;also tried to conceal herself in the shadows to avoid being noticed .
"Ready to go home?"...came Lisa's voice .Beth,locking up her locker, turned on her heels to take notice of her overalled mother walking up towards her.Running a flat gentle palm down her skirt in an attempt to look less embarrassing ,Beth grimaced and nodded.
" So...how'd it go today? "..remarked Lisa, dumping a broom in the nearest storage room .Beth stood still for a moment waiting for them to start walking out before she sighed loudly and began..:" well,it all started at math--"
