It was early morning and what light was present was cast through a veil of gloomy grey clouds. Sitting on a stilted deck that looked out into the mountains was a young man dressed in dark blue jeans and wearing a heavy black parka. He sat on a built in bench with his back leaning against the house and his left leg stretched out in front of him with his hand absentmindedly rubbing the thigh muscle.
Though most of his figure is covered up by the parka he seems to have a slender lean build and a messy mop of dark brown hair, but his most memorable feature was the sharp grey color of his eyes. Those cold eyes now stared out over the slopes of the foothills dotted with other houses like the one he leaned against. The gloomy light allowed just the minimum amount of detail to be shown, like the patches of dead grass that peaked out through the snow in places or the pine trees that grew in clumps on the slope.
It was still winter here in the Rockies but the worst of the snow wouldn't come until April, with snow coming in constant light flurries or the occasional blizzard. The young man was suddenly pulled from his internal pondering of the weather when he heard the sliding glass door open on his right. He turned his head towards the door and saw a young woman dressed similarly to himself standing there. Unlike his lean figure and messy brown hair she was more athletically built and her auburn hair was long and pulled back into a neat ponytail. Her wardrobe was also different as her jeans where a light blue and her coat was a neon yellow. But her eyes were the same as his, a sharp grey.
She sighed and walked over to him and sat next to him on the bench. "Jack it's time to go. Grandpa Grey is waiting in the car."
Jack looked back to the landscape before responding. " I know, Marie. Guess we shouldn't keep him waiting." With that said Jack grabbed a cane that had been laying on the bench to his left and stood up and made his way back into the house behind Marie who closed and locked the door behind them. They then made their way through the open space that constituted the Kitchen, Dinning room, Living room and the staircase that led to the second floor. Jack continued past the couch towards the door before hearing Marie sigh.
Jack gave his own sigh and turned towards her to see the she was looking around the space. "Don't we have a Grandfather waiting in a car outside for us?"
Marie looked back a Jack with a sad smile on her face. "Aren't you going to miss this place, too? I mean it was our home for our entire lives."
Jack gave the space a once over before looking back to her and shrugging. "Not really, it's a house. It has four walls, a roof, and some windows. There are hundreds of millions of places like it. The fact that I have only lived in this house doesn't really mean much."
At this Marie just shook her head and rolled her eyes before continuing with Jack to the door. Outside just as Marie had said, was their grandfather, Elias Grey in the rental car. Elias Grey with short grey hair cut high and tight with a plaid shirt and jeans. Elias and Marie shared that same compact, athletic build but Marie usually held a relaxed posture, while Elias always seemed tense, always ready for something to happen. After leaving the key to the house in the lock box for the realtor, Jack and Marie joined their grandfather in the car to start the trip to the airport.

Denver International Airport was as busy, as it always was. The twins and their grandfather managed to get through the initial screening, where the airport employees put Jack in a wheelchair after taking his cane, and they were now sitting next to their gate waiting to board. As the surroundings around them buzzed with activity the three sat in a comfortable silence. Or at least two of them did. Elias sat quietly tapping his thumbs on his knee and looking around as people came and went. Jack sat in his wheelchair reading a book. Sitting between the other two Marie was fidgeting around looking uncomfortable with the lack of movement.
