Amy POV
We stood at the entrance bewildered by the scence before us.The cafeteria had one side dedicated to colored and ofcourse the other to whites.
"Amy is it me are is this whole cafeteria racially divided?!"Rachel asked slowly.
Closing my mouth that was wide open the whole time ,I nod.
I think we would have stood there all day starring if a dark skin girl didn't walk up to us.
"Am guessing you guys are new!"She beamed making us look at her.The first thing that stood out to me was her noise ring , the other was her hair braided in black with blue and purple at the end.
"What gave us a way!?"Rachel smirked making the girl grin.
"Hi I'm Amber Claire Student body present for the Campions!"she introduced herself
I rose my brow at this,"Campions!?"
"The colored !"she replied pointing at a sign in the middle of the room marked,' Flingstone left ,Campions right'.
I nod forming an 'o' with my mouth remembering the name.
Amber turned to Rachel,"So what's your names?!"
"Am Sponge Bob!"I answered first throwing my hand around Rachel,"And this is my good friend Patrick!"
Rachel rolled her eyes,"Don't mind her the doctors dropped her when she was a baby!"
Shooting arrows at her with my eyes ,I removed my hands from around her.
"I'm Rachel and she's Amy!"
"Well its nice to meet you both!",Amber smiled."Unless your planning to have lunch here-!"
she said referring to where we were standing,"You can come and sit with us!"
I dont even know why she asked because before anyone of us could answer she grabbed our hands leading us to her table .
While walking I glanced over the Flingstone side.
" Sit here!"Amber said stopping at an empty lunch table.Me and Rachel both sat without any objection.
Clearing her throat Amber clapped twice,"Can I get everyone's attention!"
Our side went quite as everyone gave Amber there attention.
"So today I have two great announcements.First,I would like us all to give a warm welcome to our new Campionites, Amy and Rachel!"
Me and Rachel smiled as the students started to clap.
"And of course, I am glad to announce that Melgrove Tigers have advanced to the semifinal in the Tyrant Championship!"
This made everyone cheer in excitement.To share in there joy I clapped .Rachel just sat there looking around.
"Yes give it up for our Tigers!"
A set of guys in matching jackets stood while every one cheered .
"Can I get an even louder cheer for our captain Nicolie!"
When Amber said that one of the guys stood on the table making everyone cheer even louder.The tall bulky guy who am guessing names Nicolie was there taking in everything.He had dark brown hair and a really really nice face,one that am sure had alot of girls drooling .Suddenly his eyes landed on our table more specifically on Rachel.
I turned to Rachel who was looking back at the dude with an annoyed expression.
Wait ,am I missing something?
Amber took a seat around the table a bright smile still present,"You guys okay?!"
"Yep !"
I was the only one who answered,
glancing at Rachel I noticed that her attention was somewhere else.
I pocked
her in the side with my elbow snapping her out of her ongoing stare down with Nickolie,"Huh,yeah!?"
Rolling my eyes at her I turned to Amber,"Hey Amber can I ask you a question!"
Nodding she said ,"Sure!"
"Why is it that the whites and blacks aren't sitting together?!"I asked curiously.
She gave me a knowing look ,"Am guessing you guys didn't read the student hand book?!"
"Nope cause someone didn't think it was important!"Rachel said looking at me.Oh now she speaks.
Amber chuckled,"Well in the handbook, rule number one says that no member of Campion or Flingstone should interact unless it is requested by a supreme authority!"
This made me raise a brow,"Why!"
She shugged,"Not sure,I think it has something to do with something that happened five years ago!"
Well I wonder what would have happen to cause such a dramatic enforcement.
"So you guys don't dislike the whites?!"Rachel asked curiously.
Amber snort,"Dislike them?No we get along fine. As long as they don't get in our way that is.
Other than that we're cool we just don't interact much because of the rules around here!".
Me and Rachel nod to this.I'm glad that it wasn't a case of racism that would be too much to handle right now.
"So Amber you say your the student body present for the colored right?"Rachel said.
"Yep!"Amber replied
"So what's your job as a student body president?!
Amber straighten her pasture and cleared her throat as if she was preparing for a speech
.I silently thought she was gonna start with 'here he! here he!'
"Well as student body president my job is to protect the interests of Campionites ,if they have any problem or concerns here at school I will bring it to the school board and make sure its addressed."She finished.
"Oh,okay!"Rachel nod understanding,"So what about the Flingstones whose there student body president?!"
This made Amber roll her eyes ,"That would be Maddie!"
Looking to see who she was referring to my eyes almost popped out when I spotted the blonde from earlier.A growl left Rachel.
"You have got to be kidding me!"
