1 A.M. and I was sitting on my lovers table, watching him move around his kitchen, should have been a chief instead of a lawyer. He turns around and looks at me over the stove, throws that sexy smile my way then turns back around and continues to cook the pancakes I requested. I had on nothing but my lingerie, drinking a glass of wine, not caring about the time. He comes over to me and separates my legs so he’s standing between them. He takes a sip of my wine and licks his lips.

“It’s getting late” he says softly.

“I know. . . “Was all I said back. He looks down at my hands before doing what he always does; he taps my ring, and shakes his head.

“He’s probably waiting. . .” he says as he finally looks up at me.

“I doubt it. . . it’s too late. . . his job is just as time consuming as mine. . “ I say back as I twirl my ring around my finger.

“If you’re unhappy you should leave…” he says.

“Who said I was unhappy?” I ask him. He screws his face at me.

“Then why are you here?” he asks me.

“You know EXACTLY why I’m here . . .” I say as I turn my head to see my phone buzzing beside me, my husband was calling me, I let it ring.

“You should pick that up. . . “he says.

“I prefer not to. . .” I state to him. He takes a step back away from me and toward the stove again, upset. I hop down from the table and make my way toward him.

“Don’t tell me, you thought this would be more than what it was . . .” I ask him. He ignores me.

“You did, didn’t you?” I ask him, my phone buzzing once again. He takes the pancakes out the pan, and then slams the pan in the sink.

“Yes! For some odd reason I thought this was more than it was for a second! I apologize. . . I forgot you’re too committed to your family!” he waves his hands all dramatically like.

“Why are you in your feelings?! You knew what this was when you first agreed to this!” I shout at him. He doesn’t look at me, pissed off; he finally looks up at me, steps closer and whispers to me.

“Go Home. . . Boss. . .” I don’t reply back, my phone buzzes once again. He clenches his jaw, couldn’t tell if he was hurting or not, but I couldn’t care, it wasn’t my duty to, there was no strings attached here. I bump him as I pass him to go into his room to get dressed in my work clothes, once fully clothed, I walk back to the kitchen where he was sitting at the table, and I grab my phone. Without a word left to say I leave him where he was sitting, hop in my Truck and drive home. I don’t call my husband back; I actually turn my phone off, and shake my head. Preparing myself for what I was going to go thru when I got home.

“That’s my Sister! You just expect me to just stop talking to her . . . we work together!!” I shout at my husband. He was in the closet, taking off his work clothes.

“I don’t give a damn who she is to you . . . but the way that she is living! The way she handles things. . E I’m telling you, don’t go down that road with her!” he says to me as he walks into our personal bathroom.

“She’s my SISTER!” I shout at him for the 2nd time.

“Whose going to Break down The law firm that YOU built mostly, with the things that’s she’s doing, do you really expect T&E to stay around any longer… she’s bad business and I don’t want her around.. PERIOD!” he says like he was ending the discussion. I put my head in my hands as I sat at the edge of my bed.
