Crap crap crap crap!

I was running away from Kurome's remaining puppets who were chasing me. I knew deep down i had now no chances of escaping, but i still ran desprately in hope of another member of Night Raid coming to my rescue.

But deep down, i knew it would never happen.

If only i didn't act recklessly, i wouldn't be in this situation. I should've listen to the advice Lubbock told me.

The footsteps came closer and closer until i felt steel close to my arm, signaling me that i was about to loose it.

...

Strange...

My arm is still functionning.

I turn my head in the direction of my head, and i saw... Threads?

Lubbock...

I saw him descending from a tree before telling me

-Run and hide! I'll hold them off.

I did as he told me, and hid behind a bush. For the next few minutes, I just heard undistinguishable sounds in the forest. Then, nothing.

I was wondering what was happening, until i heard footsteps. I was so afraid of what would happen, that i just cowered deeper in the bush.

-It's okay now, Chelsea.

I looked up and saw Lubbock, and he had his left arm and eye badly injured. Seeing him in that state made me instantly teary-eyed.

-Hey. It's okay. Don't cry. They're gone now. He told me.

He crouched in front of me, before i took him in my arms and cried in his shoulder. He then fell down, exhausted, before i brought him back to the base.

--------TIIIIIIIMESKIIIIIIIIIP--------

We were all waiting outside of the base, while The Boss and Susanoo were examining Lubbock. I haven't spoke a word since I came back, despite Tatsumi, Akame and Mine's best efforts to cheer me up.

After what seemed an eternity, The Boss and Susanoo opened the door.

-How is he? I immediatly asked.

-He'll survive. He's currently resting in this room. The Boss responded.

I was relieved for a few seconds, before her next words literally broke me.

-However, due to his injuries, we had to amputate his arm, and his left eye is permanently blinded. He won't be able to fight anymore.

I didn't know what to say. I... I was responsible for his injuries, and he won't be able to fight for the cause he believes in.

All of that, because of my foolishness.

-Can I see him? I asked to the Boss.

-Sure. I think he'll need emotionnal support. She responded, stepping away from the door.

I rushed inside and i saw him. He had a noose at the sleeve of his jacket where his arm was cut, and bandages around his lost eye. But his face didn't seem to show sadness. Or any emotions, in that case. He saw me, and then began to smile.

-Hey. He simply said.

I couldn't take it anymore, so i jumped and tackled him in a hug where i broke down in tears.

-Why? Why did you have to save me? It was I who decided to run after her... I should have been the one in this state, or even dead! Why did it have to be you???

He stayed silent for a few minutes, with me crying on his shoulder, before responding.

-I guess Fate isn't kind with assassins. And about the fact that i saved you, i could't stay here thinking about the fact that one of my comrades might die while i can do something about it.

I never knew he could be so selfless. That makes me feel even worse. Unless...

-Then let me give you this as a reward.

-Really, you dont hav-MPHHH.

I gave him a passionate kiss on the lips, which he was quick to return.

-So... We are a couple now? He asked me when we separated for air.

-Yeah... We are. I answered.

I stood up, and said:

-I hope you recover quickly. And when you'll be, i'll reward you more. And i left the room while swaying my hips, and Lubbock was left as a blushing mess.

Lubbock P.o.V

Well... Today was really unexpected. I lost an arm and an eye, and Chelsea became my girlfriend. She's a great girl, that anyone would be glad to be with.

-Well... That escalated quickly.

I literally jumped out of my seat when i heard someone talk. I turned my head and saw Leone with a grin on her face.

-You heard everything didn't you?

-Yup.

I finally finished another chapter.
