TWDG life and death

Chapter 1

Lee cautiously opened the door leading out of the marsh house. While the door creaked opened,the little girl he just rescued leaned against him. She was scared and lee could tell.
"Don't worry everything will be ok." He assured her.
"Just stay close to me." Lee whispered as they both began to shuffle into the massive horde of the undead outside of the marsh house.

The duo began the long trek down the road to the outskirts of savannah.
The sounds erupting from the walkers was putting lee on edge but he had to stay strong or else him and clementine wouldn't make it. The corner of the street was in hindsight when something caught clementines attention.
She stopped walking to catch the full image of her now zombified parents.
Then Lee noticed her not by his side anymore. He looked around frantic but not showing it so he wouldn't alert the walkers.

He saw her standing there,horrified by what she was seeing.
"Clem don't look." Was all he whispered. "Think about it later." He gently placed his hand back on her shoulder,bringing her close to him so she wouldn't fall behind again.
"Ok lee." The little girl answered back,her voice starting to break.
Lee wanted to do something to try and comfort her but he couldn't do that right now.

They were almost out of the herd.
After a few more minutes of walking,Lee stopped walking holding clementine still.
He noticed 2 pathways that they could take to get out of here.

Path 1
There was a ladder leading up to the rooftop that both of them could take. They would be safe up there from the herd but it would be harder to navigate because lee had clementine with him and she can't jump rooftop to rooftop.

Path 2
There was a alleyway with few walkers in it. The alleyway led to another street that was filled with walkers. This path would be easier for clementine since they weren't on the rooftops but they would have walkers to worry about along the way.
Which path are you going to take?
