A small gasp escapes from my lips once I hear his question. Quickly stiffening my body, I stand up and walk over to the coffee counter and ask if I may take my latte to go.

As soon as the man finishes I grab it quickly and walk back to the table grabbing my things. The curly haired boy seems to giving me a confused look as I stuff my books and journal into my bag.

"Sorry I've just realized I've uh got to erm go and go to that doctor's appointment," I send a nervous smile and sling my bag over my shoulder.

"Oh sure thing babe, do you come here often though? Maybe I could give you my number?" he quickly replies.

"Sorry I've really got to g-" before I can bolt to the door I feel a slight hold on my left arm.

"C'monnn, what if I never see you again?" I look into his eyes, they're a beautiful emerald softening color. He has those eyes that twinkle brighter than the stars on a dark night. Curls are falling slightly into his eyes and dimples are carved into his cheeks due to the slight smile held on his lips.

"I.. uh.. I'll be here tomorrow.." before he can reply I bolt out of the coffee shop and pull my umbrella open as fast as possible. Taking a few deep breaths, I find myself walking in central park by the lake. The swans seem to be out today, how beautiful.

"Watch out!" a boy in suspenders comes speeding towards me on his bike.

I quickly step out of the way and giggle slightly when I see his bike start to wobble. Seconds later, the boy is on the ground with his bag beside him. As soon as he stands up I start to take a look at him. He has brown scruffy hair and quite an adorable style. His eyes are blue and a wide grin is settled onto his lips.

"Hey babe, I'm Louis but you can uh call me Lou," he chuckles slightly and I find myself oddly giggling uncontrollably at him. He seems cute, that's all.

"I'm Poppy," I send him a smile and watch as his grin widens.

"Well Poppy what is a beautiful girl like yourself doing walking around central park on a drowsy rainy day hm?"

"Not really sure actually, but I've gotta get going before this storm gets too bad," I start to turn on my heel and watch as the boy steps forward.

"May I have your number first? I'm not trying to flirt or anything I've just been looking for a good friend around here I promise," I find myself nodding before I can proccess what has happened.

I quickly write my number down on the napkin I snatched from starbucks earlier and hand it to him. I send the cheeky boy a wave and quickly walk off towards my apartment building on franklin street.
