Dreams & Nightmares

I was so ready for her..It had been so long since she was last inside me..I nearly melted as she entered my essence. My thighs clasped her waist as our bodies effortlessly found a common rhythm. "Look what you made me do KYNG!" She screeched repeatedly her voice like nails scraping against a chalk board. I kept trying to scream & pull her fingers from my throat as she invaded me.

"LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO KYNG!" She bore all of her weight on my neck suffocating me until I woke up gasping for air & grasping at my neck.

"It's ok Playboi. You safe now." I heard Kyng's familiar sultry whisper in the darkness. I raised up coughing still clenching my throat as my nightmare faded & reality set in. She was in her wheelchair by the window. I could hear her grunting as she tried to wheel herself over to me.

"Baby! What are you doing?!" I screamed in a whisper. My panic quickly shifted to worry for Kyng. I jumped up from the sleeper sofa on which i had been sleeping, tripped on my covers that had fallen to the floor and ended up landing face first in Kyng's lap. I lay there silently for a few milliseconds before the tears broke.

"Oh shit babe! Are you ok?" Kyng's voice was genuine with concern as she gently caressed my head & back.

I didn't speak. I just lay there wrapped my arms around the best I could in spite of her chair & just cried. I just needed her to be there and be real for the moment.

"C'mon Bae. Get up! What's wrong? Did you hurt yaself?" I could hear confusion compound the concern in her voice now. "Here. Lemme getta nurse." She tugged at me to pull me up. "You're ok Baby. You safe now. It's ok." She rubbed my scalp gently toying with my curls. She raised my face towards hers as she continued, "I know what it is. You're safe now baby. I gotchu. I promise." She wiped a smeared tear off my cheek. "Wanna come lay with me?" She asked as I continued to sniffle. I nodded my response still shook from the experience. "Here come on." She locked her chair so I could pull myself up. Once on my feet I unlocked the break and wheeled her the short distance to her bedside where she locked her brake and began pull herself out of the chair. "I got it babe." She smiled proudly as she struggled to lift herself onto the bed.

"Well lookacthu!" I enamored at her persistence as I stood watching over her. She had majority of herself on the bed but had dropped her blanket on the floor & gotten tangled in her cordage.

"Here bae. Lemme get it." I tossed the blanket onto her chair and proceeded to untangle the cords around her & lift her lower half onto the bed while she pulled the covers back and patted a spot for me to get in bed. I lay in her arms & she lovingly looked at me.

"Do you wanna talk about it? Or just lay here?" Her question made my head swirl with panic and emotion. I broke her gaze and fiddled with an EKG cord.

"It's coo Bae no worries." She sighed at my silence. Then she lifted my face to hers again and promised, "On me. I ain't neva finna let nothing like that happen again...On Big Momma..." She held me tight while she spoke. I remained silent and lay my head on her chest as my mind flashed back to my nightmare. I knew she meant what she vowed -there was no way she'd put a lie on her grandmother- but I also knew things could happen beyond her control. I believed her but understood that it was up to me to keep us protected now.
