Chapter 6 - Continuing on

"Well.. that was... unexpected"

Bad laughed a bit with a shaky voice and a slightly red face. "Y-yeah.. lets just, continue walking.." 

Skeppy noticed how bothered bad seemed to be, he was slightly concerned and worried. He nodded and began to walk off as they became enveloped in the surrounding silence. Though there were others around at this time of day, everything seemed silent as they walked and thought to themselves. 

Skeppy seemed to panic with his thoughts, not knowing what to think 'Is he really that uncomfortable with the idea of being on a date with me? Is he mad at me? Did i do something wrong?? Why am i thinking about this so much...?' Skeppy thought, taking a deep, quiet breath to try and calm down. 

Just as Skeppy was regaining his attention to his surroundings, he noticed a sign next to a dirt pathway towards the mountain. It read 'Moonlight Hiking Trail', the words brought back some memories to Zak.

Months ago...

Zak was in a ts call with his two friends who were soon to be his roommates. They talked about moving in together for a while and had begun the search for where to live. Zak had found a small town in the state they chose and decided to make a list of fun activities in the area to convince them that this was a good town to move to. 

He found a tourist attraction called the 'Moonlight Hiking Trail', it was path that went into the nearby mountains, if started at around noon and gone at a normal pace, hikers could make it to the top just in time to see the beautiful stars. in fact, the peak of the trail had the best views of the stars all around. He decided this could help in convincing and unmuted to tell his friends.

"I found a good area" He said, getting the others' attention.

"Hm?" A6d replied to show he was listening, Bad stopped typing to show he was paying attention as well.

"The town is really beautiful, lots to do, has a big lake nearby and this cool hiking trail." Skeppy said, trying to convince the two of his suggestion.

"Hiking trail?" A6d asked in confusion.

"I didn't really take you as a hiker type of person Zak." Bad said, chuckling a bit.

"Well, im not. But apparently at the top it has the best view of night sky around, it seems like something fun we could do every so often to see the stars!" Skeppy said, explaining his thought process to his two friends.

"oooo!" Bad said excitedly, clapping quickly "I love the stars!! I'd love to go there!!" 

Skeppy laughed a bit, "So what do you two think about moving there?" 

"Let's look into it more." A6d suggested, bringing up the place onto his computer and beginning to do research. 

Present time...

Zak grabbed Bad's arm to stop him as he spoke, "Bad! Remember that hiking trail that has a good view of the stars? We could go now and make it there at the perfect time!!" Skeppy said excitedly, trying to break away the awkwardness in the air with his loud voice and a fun suggestion.

Bad's face basically lit up in remembrance of the past topic, smiling "Sure! Let's go!" 

Skeppy smiled and began to guide bad to the pathway, still gripping to the other's wrist. Neither of them were very bothered by it, so it remained that way until Skeppy needed to use it. 

It took a few hours for the two of them to reach the top of the mountain, having to stop to take breaks every so often. They took a few pictures of the scenery on the way up, well... bad did. Bbh also took a few sneaky pictures of skeppy while he wasn't paying attention, and some selfies. Bad always thought it was important to take pictures, 'for the memories'. 

Eventually, they reached the path's peak. The top was flatter than the rest of the area, a few benches and a small cafe laid around a cliff with a view of the town below. Their new home. 

Despite the long walk, there was a good amount of people, around 10 or 11 split into 4 groups. It was busy, but it was still calm. The two boys decided to get some ice cream and sit on a bench near the edge of the cliff to get a good view. It would be around an hour before the sun would set so they had some time.

They talked about everything and nothing at the same time. Sometimes, they just had a comfortable silence, other times they were loud and excited. That hour spent was amazing for the two of them, they wouldnt trade it for anything. 

Bad seemed to fidget and look away from skeppy every so often durring the conversation, though. But skeppy decided not to ask, it was probably nothing.

After talking, they were snapped out of their thoughts as they took sight of the setting sun. Bad's face lit up, getting out of his seat, grabbing Skeppy's hand and dragging them over to a clearing on the cliff. The two sat down and watched as the sky slowly faded to darkness, stars popping into the sky one by one. 

They sat in silence, only a breeze being heard around them. Skeppy stared at his friend's amazed face looking at the stars, laughing a bit.

Bad turned to skeppy as skeppy quickly turned his head away. "What's so funny?" Bad asked.

Skeppy took a deep breath, trying to calm his heart. "nothing.."

"It's nothing..."
